I've had extreme confidence issues throughout my childhood due to my droopy/hanging columella, I have now reached an age where I am considering surgery to correct the columella. I am wondering what would be the best procedure for correcting my nose and also how much this procedure will cost. Thank you
Answer: Cost of hanging columella correction? The columella can be improved for a small amount if that is the only thing you would like done.Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of rhinoplasties and rhinoplasty revisions each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Answer: Rhinoplasty for hanging columella Hi there,I'm sorry to hear that your self consciousness around your nose has been distressing for you.The pictures you've posted aren't clear enough for definitive advice, but they do show a bulky tip and possibly a hanging columella. You appear to have however a beautiful face.I suspect correcting it probably will involve a full rhinoplasty. The bulk of your tip might need refinement as well, is what I mean. However, I can give you clear advice: Seek consultations with an expert rhinoplasty surgeon in your city, or more than one. Before you go, be clear to yourself what you would like to achieve with your whole nose. Take pictures to the consult of noses you like from magazines, this is very helpful. Take your time. Most surgeons will image your nose and use the images as part of the discussion with you in planning a rhinoplasty. This is also very helpful. If you're in London or UK, I suggest start with an appointment with My Barry Jones. All the best.Howard Webster

Answer: columellar plasty for hanging columella A hanging columella is usually performed as a component of a full rhinoplasty procedure. To address the hanging columella, cartilage and skin must be trimmed from the inside of the nose along the columella to tuck it upwards and inwards. This can be done under local or general anesthesia but the price will vary depending upon which type of anesthesia. This can be accomplished with a closed rhinoplasty approach with all the incisions placed on the inside of the nose. The cost is less than a full rhinoplasty. For many examples of columellar-plasty, please see the link and the video below

Answer: Elimination of Hanging Columella It is relatively easy for an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon to lift a hanging columella under local anesthesia. I'm sorry but I am not familiar with surgical costs in London.
