How do you determine which kind of brow lift to perform? There seem to be mixed info online about which procedure is most effective, and some surgeons only do endoscopic. Thanks!
Answer: Several factors including the hairline a coronal lift severs all of the nerves that go to the forehead, so numbness last longer. It does permit work on the bony structures of the forehead and brow. If the hairline is high it can raise it. An endoscopic brow lift is less invasive and offers similar results. My feeling is that, under magnification, the muscles can be tailored better. It usually does not lift the hairline. It has advantages over the trichophytic lift, as it only uses vertical incisions within the hairline that, usually, are not noticeable, particularly if the frontal hair is pulled back.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Not one size fits all Brow lifts are not something that is one size fits all. There are many different brow lifts that I perform: temporal brow lift, open brow lift, direct brow lift, gliding brow lift. In my hands, these are the techniques that I find I achieve the best results with. However, which of these brow lifts I perform varies from patient to patient depending on a number of factors. In general, the more aging changes someone has, the more extensive of a procedure will be required. Rather than focusing on a specific technique, I would recommend finding a board certified plastic surgeon who has results that you like.

Answer: Brow lift options There is another version of brow lifting that has actually become the one I do most often, called the subcutaneous temporal brow lift. The coronal lift goes across the top of the head behind the hairline, has a lot of problems, and I don't know anyone who still does it routinely. I did a ton of endoscopic browlifts for a while but found that it has issues as well. It doesn't work if the hairline is high, it will move the hairline higher (which may or may not be desirable), and it tends to relapse more often than I would like. The temporal brow lift enables good shaping of the brow.

Answer: Best Browlift with long lasting results and no removal of hair bearing scalp! The Irregular Trichophytic Browlift with or without hairline lowering for Female or MTF TG patients is a procedure that I invented almost 50 years ago and have done more than 5000. Hair grows through the incision so no scar is noticeable and lifts the brow and/or lowers the hairline if needed. Make sure you see the surgeon‘s results with the hair pulled back to evaluate, the resultant lack of noticeable scar. I never do Coronal Browlifts except in patients with extremely low hairlines, as this removes a a strip of hair, bearing scalp and does not give as good a browlift.
