I have been reading about Glide Lifts. Is this a new technique and does it really work and last for at least 10 years?
Answer: Yes! Facial Sculpting with Fillers | Brow Ptosis | Browlift | Upper Blepharoplasty | Eyelid Lift Hello and thank you for your question. A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are both surgical and non-surgical options to correct this, depending on your exact situation. For less significant issues, there are nonsurgical treatments: To give the eyebrows a nice lift, we use injectable fillers to improve the eyebrow, upper eye, forehead and temple. A filler is placed on the bone and in the fat pads of these areas to contour and lift without it looking overdone. We use cannulas to limit pain and swelling. Surgery (browlift and/or upper blepharoplasty) is a great option for more significant improvement- for example if there is more substantial eyebrow drooping. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert, or an aesthetic facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Donald Groves; we are both located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: All in the layers The forehead has a number of different layers of tissue. Brow lifts can be done in different layers. The usual way is to lift the muscle and skin together off of the bone and then fix it higher up. In a "gliding" lift, you're actually not gliding much at all, but rather lifting the skin off the muscle (one layer higher) which is a more "bloody" area for dissection, but, as the lifted tissue is lighter (doesn't include the muscle) it can be more dramatic. Yes, we can get that to last a long time. We do many browlifts each week. They are a fairly quick recovery and can be very transformative.

Answer: Does the glide lift really work Much more information is needed, such as a full set of facial photographs to make a determination about whether or not you're even a candidate for a brow lift procedure. There are many reasons to get a brow lift which include Raising low-set eyebrows, adjusting asymmetrical eyebrows, raising or lowering the hairline, softening the vertical and horizontal wrinkles in the forehead and softening both the corrugator and frontalis muscles. We do not use any type of quilting stitch, since it can cause necrosis of the skin flap. We use drains that are left in place for 24 hours
