What are additional procedures I can get with a lower face and neck lift? Female, 56. Also, is Fat Transfer for volume loss a good idea? I am scheduled to get a facelift but I am not sure if I should also proceed with a fat transfer treatment.
Answer: Additional procedures with lower face and neck lift Thank you for your inquiry! For areas of volume loss, there are a couple of options: fat transfer and filler. Filler, of course would be more of a temporary fix and would need to be repeated. This question would be best answered if we were able to see your areas of concern. Schedule an appointment with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to help you reach your goals.

Answer: Facelift with or without fat transfer Thank you for your question. The advice I generally give for questions of this nature is: when you lie down completely flat and look in the mirror, do you feel that the face has sufficient volume or do you feel that you would like to add volume? If when you look in the mirror lying down flat, the shape of the face is good and you do not feel it needs volume added, the deep plane facelift is usually able to carry out a similar transformation. If when you lie down and you look in the mirror, you think there is need for more volume in the face, then fat transfer can be a good adjunct to the treatment.

Answer: Facelift and Additional Procedures Great question. In my opinion, fat transfer is over-utilized and often not needed during a facelift. A well performed deep plane facelift is self volumizing and most patients that I see do not require additional volume. When additional volume is required, I prefer Sculptra, which is a form of L-Polylactic acid, stimulating collagen production and predictably producing facial volume. I have found fat transfer to be fraught with a lack of predictability and complications. I perform about 3 facelifts a week. Additional procedures to the eyes, brow, and skin (resurfacing) depend on the degree of indications present.

Answer: Fat Transfer with Facelift Hello, hope you are well. Generally speaking, fat grafting (lipotransfer) is commonly performed alongside facelift surgery. Usually when I perform fat grafting in this context it is for volume loss around the eyes and upper cheeks, and sometimes the nasolabial folds. But by no means is it appropriate for everyone. Without photos and an understanding of your facial anatomy, it's impossible to say whether it would be a good idea for you. Best,Dr. Tower

Answer: Facelift and neck lift are the gold standard for facial rejuvenation. While facelift and neck lift are the gold standard for facial rejuvenation, volume loss also can add to an aged appearance. Fat grafting has been used to try to restore volume loss in the face. It’s important to understand that 100% of the fat, which is transferred to your face does not survive. The amount that does survive is dependent upon multiple factors. Have a detailed discussion about this with your plastic surgeon.
