Hi there. I had BodyTite done 2 years ago on my abdomen. The area around my belly button is hard and lumpy. Especially the left side rises higher. I am embarrassed to show my torso because of all the blunt lumps. What procedure would help even out my abdomen? Are there laser treatments that could break up the scar tissue?

Answer: Poor surgical outcome I’m guessing most likely you had liposuction done at the same time. It’s pretty rare that someone just does bodytite. The outcome looks like a poorly done Liposuction possibly with the use of a power assistive device such as VASER. However this type of outcome could be achieved with any form of Liposuction. Treatment options are most likely going to be revision Liposuction to even out the contour irregularities. Correcting poor outcomes from previous Liposuction is far more difficult than Primary Liposuction. Taking an even contour and leaving it even is hard enough. Taking an uneven contour and making it even as many times more difficult. I suggest consulting with highly experienced board-certified plastic surgeons who have very strong Liposuction experience. I would avoid power equipment such as VASER Though somebody who is highly experienced could probably do a fine job with that equipment as well. It’s certainly possible that revision work can make things worse so please choose a provider carefully. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
