Hi Pampkin,Most Emsculpt providers recommend not treating patients with metal implants close to the treatment area. Others believe that titanium, unlike metal implants, does not conduct electromagnetic energy, and will treat patients with titanium. At this early time in the use of Emsculpt it is better to err on the side of safety. Stay tuned, as those providers who do treat patient with titanium implants share their patients experiences, we may feel better about treating over these implants. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
Unfortunately, a metal hip implant is a contraindication to the EMSculpt procedure. There is a risk that the electromagnetic energy could heat the implant and cause a problem.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa Aesthetic Centers
EMSculpt defines and sculpts. It does this by utilizing magnetic stimulation to cause muscular super contractions. It would not be an issue if you don't have any metal plates or implants in those areas but titanium is a paramagnetic material that is not affected by the magnetic field. I would still confirm with your doctor to make sure.
Hi thank you for your question. Unfortunately, a metal implant is a contraindication for the Emsculpt device. Therefore, you would not be an ideal candidate for the treatment. Please seek a certified health care provider to determine if there are other options for you.
Thank you for your question. According to the manufacturer, it is safe to undergo Emsculpt treatment because titanium does not conduct electromagnetic energy. Other metals are considered a contraindication for treatment, such as steel implants, pacemakers, etc. It is always best to consult with your particular provider and follow their advice regarding treatment.
Thank you for your question. I don’t recommend having an Emsculpt treatment after a hip replacement. The HIFEM technology contradicts with metal implants. Please make sure you seek treatment from a board-certified dermatologist.
Yes, titanium does not conduct electromagnetic heat. Patients with cardiac pacemakers, other electromagnetic implants, or implanted neurostimulators should not use HIFEM technology.
Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, EMsculpt is not advised after a hip replacement. EMsculpt uses electromagnetic energy, similar to an MRI coil and is contraindicated with any metal in the hip or pelvis. Hope this helps.
No issues with disproportionate weight gain. It does lead to some fat cell reduction but if you gain weight you will gain weight in the same areas as you would if you didn't have the treatment.
Thank you for your question. Emsculpt has been studied with CT and MRI technology and it has been proven to have a 16% increase in abdominal muscle mass in 1 month following the procedure. This procedure works by sending powerful electromagnetic pulses to the area for maximum results. There a...
Thank you for your question. Shaving or hair removal prior to Emsculpt is not necessary! Consult with an experience medical spa or board certified plastic surgeon in your area. Good luck!
