Vagina lips crooked or swollen after full tummy tuck with pubic lift?! (photos)

Question

Is my vagina swollen or crooked? I'm 6 days post op from full tummy tuck/pubic lift/lipo of flanks. My left side(which is the bigger side) is swollen and has a burning/piercing when i stand up sometimes so i press it down as i stand up to bare it. I also massage this side of my vagina when sitting in hopes of soothing and smoothing out the swelling? What do you think,is this normal,will it straighten out? Thanks!!

Thank you for your question. It's still early after surgery, so I would be patient and give your swelling time to improve. Swelling can be asymmetrical, and as it settles things can even out. Make sure to follow your doctor's instructions. Congratulations on your recent surgery.

Thank you for your question. It is common to have swelling this soon after a tummy tuck. Sometimes, it can be asymmetric as it is in your case. I would follow your plastic surgeon's post op instructions, wear the recommended garment (if any) and take it easy. Congratulations and hope you have a smooth recovery!

Thank you for your question and photos. You should expect to have swelling for three to six months following tummy tuck surgery. Use of a properly fitted compression garment will help decrease the length and severity of the post-operative swelling. It is not uncommon to have vaginal swelling.  As the swelling decreases, the contour of your abdomen, flanks, hips, and vagina will dramatically improve. Please follow your plastic surgeons specific advice regarding your level of physical activity. Hope this helps and good luck with your recovery.

as you are, swelling will distort you anatomy and assuming your surgeon was not doing a monsplasty at the same time, your midline should have been lined up before suturing.  If you did have a concomitant monsplasty, then you have to allow time for healing and for the swelling to resolve before critiquing your results.
