Hello, thank you for your question. Much of the fat is injected into the muscle, but some of the fat is injected to contour and improve texture. I perform about 500 Brazilian buttlifts each year, and this procedure is the most surgeon dependent plastic surgery procedure. Find a plastic surgeon with credentials who performs hundreds of Brazilian buttlifts each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results.
Dear williamsdom, the safest way to do fat transfer is to place it above the muscle. In case of transfer under the muscle, there is a significantly higher risk of complications. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Every plastic surgery society throughout the world recommends against transferring the fat into the gluteus muscles because of the known and proven high risk for embolism and death. If you are looking for more buttock volume, and especially projection, another round of BBL is much less likely to produce this compared to buttock implants. Glad to be of help.
It has been proven that the only way fat embolisms happen, is when injected fat travels from the muscle into the blood stream and then into the heart and lungs. By the way... this isn’t just a complication, a fat embolism is deadly. It has been proven that the only way to avoid a fat embolism is to avoid injecting into the muscle at all times. Injecting fat into the muscle is not recommended by any plastic surgery board that I know of. If I was you I wouldn’t put my life at risk for an elective surgery. Please think this through.Best of luck,Dr. Miguel Mota
I would not take a chance with fat transfer 'under' the muscle. The BBL procedure is already the most dangerous cosmetic procedure performed in the US. Placing fat under the muscle increases your risks tremendously.Dr t
Dear chenemonique, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic...
Thanks for your question and the photos you provided! What may benefit you most is liposuction to your back, to help give you more of a hour glass shape. if you have already had liposuction to this area, I would recommend waiting at least 6 months before your board certified plastic surgeon...
Hello, thank you for your question. Lumps after BBL could represent fat necrosis. Given that you are a year after surgery, the lump requires an evaluation. The likely treatment would be to excise that block of necrotic fat. Continue to follow up with your board certified PS as the white dot may...
Dear Deanna3030, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from revision surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get...
The best thing to do at this point is to return to your original plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns. More than likely photos of your surgical site were taken before surgery and sometimes it can be helpful to review these to see how the area changed. Sometimes these contours existed before...
Hello, thank you for your question. It is difficult to tell what the lump might be. I would have to examine you to determine if there was a problem with healing.
