Question

The doctor said when he went in he was able to get out 3 liters of fat but the fat was full of scar tissue and would not survive in hips, so I woke up now with 0 fat and the same hip dips ! I’m frustrated and was told my only options would be hip implant or sculptra would sculptra be effective for me or could I do liposuction on my thighs (never been lipo) and have it transferred to hips under local? I don’t want to go back under general! I would ideally want 400 cc fat in each hip transfer...

This is a common inquiry and concern. BBL fat tends to survive the worst in the hip dip area. This is why many people like yourself then turn to cosmetic hip implants for a more reliable and permanent option. Do not waste your hard earned money on Sculptra  because it will require at least 200 ccs (of active product not saline) in each hip area side to make a significant difference. This will equate to at least $300,000. Getting only 10 to 50 ccs or “syringes” of Sculptra will produce minuscule results yet cost over $10,000. Glad to help.

Dear chenemonique,
based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Hello, thank you for your question. Based on your photos it seems like you do not have hip dips. However, if you are not happy with the results a revision can be an option. Having the BBL done a second time is an option as long as you have enough fat to be transferred. The revision implies that there is less fat than the first time, and scar tissue will make the surgery much more difficult on the surgeon. The percentage of fat survival in the BBL the second time should be about the same. Schedule an email, Skype or in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation and to discuss your goals.

Based on your pictures you don’t have hip dips. You have full hips.

Personally I would not worry about grafting fat harvested from areas with scar tissue.

To me you don’t look like you need more fat transfer in your hips or buttocks.

There’s no problem harvesting fat from your inner thighs.  Make sure the plastic surgeon has done lots of lower extremity Liposuction in the past to make sure you don’t get uneven contour problems.
