Can I get Dysport/Botox while on a muscle relaxer?

Can i get Botox/ or dysport after starting a muscle relaxer for a pinched nerve in my neck? How long should i wait until getting it?

Receiving any type of neurotoxin injection while on a muscle relaxer is no problem. These injections act locally and should not have any systemic effect. You should be able to receive these injections even after immediately starting this medication.

Thank you for your question. You can get treatment with a neuromodulator while taking a muscle relaxant, and there isn't a waiting period. The muscle relaxant works at a systemic level to reduce hyperactivity, while the neuromodulator works locally.

Good Afternoon! I don't know of a contraindication to obtaining a neuromodulator while on a muscle relaxer - especially if being used for the posterior neck. Botox and Dysport tend to stay fairly localized. As long as you aren't receiving injections near the intended target of the muscle relaxer, I would say this likely won't be an issue. I would recommend consulting with the doctor who prescribes the muscle relaxer to ask. Hope this helps!
