Does my panniculectomy look like it was done right? (Photo)

Hello,  Firstly, congratulations on your weight loss. It is clear from the photos that you had lost a significant amount of weight and were in need of skin removal. A Panniculectomy is very different from a Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty, as many parts of those procedures are not deemed "medically necessary" by insurance companies. Most insurance MAY cover the Panniculectomy, but this is just skin removal of the excess that is hanging, it does not cover the parts of the procedure that make the outcome aesthetically pleasing. At our practice, if we can get the Panniculectomy covered by insurance, which is becoming more and more difficult to get approved, we always have a "cosmetic add-on" price that patients are responsible for paying so that they can have the skin removal that insurance will cover, PLUS the extra parts that make it look good. We will not do a panniculectomy by itself, as patients are never pleased at the outcome. If you are displeased with your outcome, check back with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon after your recovery is complete to see if there is anything revisionary that can be done. Best of Luck-
