This is the second surgical procedure I have had with Dr. Wassermann and his staff of amazing nurses and assistants. I had a consultation to discuss my concerns and Dr. made his recommendations. I tailored his suggestions to my own comfort level and schedule my chin lipo procedure for less than 8 weeks later! On surgery day I showed up early in the morning and had the full workup with his staff before he spent some time with me to make his marks. Before I knew it I was waking up in the recovery room and on my way home within a few hours! My pain level was well managed thanks to the recommendations of the staff and the prescriptions provided, though I rarely had to use anything more than tylenol after the first few days. I followed the post op procedures and wore my head wrap (though uncomfortable) full time for the first 2 weeks, 12 hours at least the next 2, and nightly for another 2. The swelling flared up most at night but it's resolved nearly entirely by now! I am ecstatic with my results. I never imagined I would ever feel comfortable enough to take photos from the side!! I can't thank Plastic Surgery Consultants enough!!
I've always struggled with my weight but after a few very hard years I had put on more weight than ever, reaching ~285lbs. With lots of therapy to get the emotional bingeing under control and a lot of physical work, I managed to drop down to 185lbs. Unfortunately the amount of weight gained and then lost had forever changed my body and at only 26 years old I found myself with a sad saggy tummy, and stretch breasts that nearly hit my waist. Nothing like the college body I had remembered and hoped to see once more. When continued exercise and skin care did nothing to help over a year of weight maintenance, I decided to look into a permanent solution. Dr. Washerman had been recommended to me by multiple friends that had varying surgeries or treatments with him. I knew that I wanted to stay as local as possible in case of any complications, and his office was only 30 minutes away from my house. I called in November 2021 and booked the earliest consultation available for February 2022. At my consultation, I knew I was going to choose Dr. Wasserman and his team. The office was pristine (and very cool - located in an old Greyhound station), the entire team was sweet and highly attentive. He paid close attention to my wants, needs and concerns and walked me through a comprehensive binder of previous results from a variety of patients. I left with a quote for Dr. Wasserman's torsoplasty technique (muscle repair, flank/abdominal lipo, pubic reconstruction, and skin removal, plus a breast lift) and scheduled my appointment for June 2022. A month before surgery I received my full packet of information including DVT information, post surgery tips, required lab work and prescriptions. On surgery day I showed up at 7am and prepped for surgery with my nurse Melissa (amazing woman!). 8 hours later I woke up with a new body! I stayed at the surgery center overnight with a wonderful night nurse, Faye (also amazing) and went home the next morning at 6am with four drains (two on top and two on bottom) and an in-dwelling catheter to reduce the times up and down. The first few days went by in a flash thanks to the reduced narcotic pain medicine schedule and some excellent caretaking by my husband and mother. I had my catheter and top two drains removed at my first post-op three days after surgery. Within the next week and a half I had two more post op appointments to remove the remaining two drains, and switch to new stage two garments. Now, 17 days after surgery and I'm feeling amazing! Im almost standing fully upright but still sleeping reclined on my back. I did not need to use the Oxy prescribed and was fully off of pain medicine around the 10 day mark. I could not be more impressed with my results. Every time I take off my garment to shower the swelling and bruising has reduced further. The incision lines are incredibly fine and already healing so well. I can't wait to watch the continued healing and get my final results in a few months! Updated on 13 Jul 2022: I’m in awe of what Dr Wasserman has done for me. Every day my swelling subsides more and more and I get to see even better results! Today I put on an outfit I took a before photo the day before surgery in to see the difference and wow. If this is four weeks of healing, I can’t wait until the 6month mark to see my full settled results! Healing has been going so well over the past few weeks. All of the soreness left in my breasts is rapidly subsiding and I’m no long yellow from bruises! The incisions look amazing, so thin and straight and even all the way across. I’m fully upright for most of the day, though it is harder if I’ve been sitting or curled over for a bit. This is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself! Updated on 19 Jul 2022: Things are just getting better and better. The incision lines are sooooo fine and even, Dr Wasserman is a master! Still standing a little crooked at times but I’m almost sleeping fully flat and switching slowly from side to side. Better range of motion on the breasts too now and they are less sore day by day. All of the yellow bruising and redness has pretty much gone away! I can’t believe how perky I am! Feel free to ask any questions, I’m happy to answer! Updated on 21 Jul 2022: Updated on 22 Jul 2022: Healing is going so well and the incision is amazing. Updated on 27 Jul 2022: Going in for my 6 week post op appointment this week. I’m still in awe of the work Dr Wasserman did and I don’t think the feeling will ever go away. Best decision ever!!! Updated on 31 Aug 2022: Been a few weeks since the last update by my happiness keeps growing! I’m starting to finally understand that this is my body now. All in all, I’m feeling amazing! I still get stiff and sore, especially if I’ve been sitting for long periods. I’m back to walking upwards of 4-5 miles a day and have even traveled by plane for a long period of time. Shopping and buying new clothes has been the highlight! The difference is dramatic. Updated on 28 Dec 2022: Just over six months ago I went under for my abdominoplasty + breast lift with Dr. Wasserman. Every day I wake up with a body I’m proud of. At this point I’m feeling about 95% normal. I docked 5 percent because there are still random times where my abs feel tighter than usual and my endurance is a bit worse after not doing anything for about 4 months, but in general it’s easy to forget what my body even went through! I’m back to working out fully in a gym, heavy weight lifting and cardio. Plus other activities like hiking and climbing. My back hurts so much less with this weight and skin off!! I think to lose bother 20 pounds would put me at an optimal weight for my height at about 165, so long as I retain the muscle I’ve got. I’m so happy!! I can’t recommend this process enough to anyone considering it. Updated on 5 Jul 2023: It’s been just over a year since I had my full abdominoplasty and breast lift with lipo. To say that I’m happy with the outcome is an understatement. In the last six months I’ve been hitting the gym hard and hiking even harder. It’s easier than it ever was without the skin hanging off of me and chafing. I’m wearing bikinis I only would have dreamed of before. My old body is a distant memory. I don’t have a single regret. It’s literally perfect. I still can’t fully feel light touch in the skin below my belly button until the incision and I’m not as flexible when arching my back but it gets better by the day. The scar is so smooth and soft now. THANK YOU TO DR WASSERMAN and his AMAZING STAFF of nurses and PAs.
hello, I am a week post op tomorrow on the 8th. I got Abdominoplasty, lipo on the back, and fat transfer to my butt and hips. I know I'm expected to still have swelling but I feel like one side isnt right. I was placed in a Garment that was too small and I think it made my incisions worse. Can someone please tell me im dreaming and not botched. That it takes time for the fat to fall into place like the doc says?
I went to Dr. Wasserman for a consult in October 2017 for a breast reduction and an anterior torsoplasty. I researched my options and chose him because he does more than an average tummy tuck. I really did not like the ptosis and pouch overlap I’ve had all my life, even when I was smaller. At the consultation, he was very knowledgeable and professional and I felt very comfortable. He advised me to lose 30 pounds because my BMI was 38. I scheduled my surgery for December 14 and went to a weight loss doctor to help me on my mission. I would highly recommend anyone considering surgery to follow the PS’s instructions. If they say to lose weight, then LOSE WEIGHT! I’m glad I did. At the time of my surgery, I’d lost 25 pounds. Initially I wanted to go from a 36G to a 36DD. At the end of the day, I decided to trust Dr. Wasserman to do what was best aesthetically and health wise. I am now a full 36C and feel like my breasts are perfect for me. My surgery was done in his state of the art surgery center. It was clean, safe and sanitary. I spent the night there and Dr. Wasserman provided a wonderful attendant, Ms. Faye, who stayed with me the whole time. She gave me my meds, Gatorade, and applesauce and attended to my drains. I have uploaded my before pics and my one week after photos. I am VERY pleased with Dr. Wasserman’s work.
Terrific procedure, had mastopexy w implants and a tummy tuck ie mommy makover. I went to several consukts before Dr Wasermann and he was the only one i felt comfortable with. He and his staff have been amazing and three weeks post op I can already see the results are meeting my expectations!
Never worked to lose eight after children, finally got motivated and been working out doing Crossfit. Have lost weight much of it from chest- leaving them saggy and deflated. Been researching since January 2016- and finally did it August 30. Got 397cc through areoles so as to avoid anchor scar. Finally! Updated on 5 Sep 2016: At times I feel like they are too big! And other times too small. I also don't know how healthy it is for me only his board- looking at everyone else's pictures - your all so skinny and beautiful. It's making me feel old and chubby! Updated on 17 Sep 2016: Not much different so far. Trying to sleep on back has been difficult as I am a side sleeper, but the few times I have woken up on my side it hurts. I go back to Dr. in a week. I want to ask about easing back into exercise. I'm going to start this week with light walking during my usual Crossfit class. I want to take care of them but it's hard to not be in the gym. Obviously I wouldn't do chest/arm stuff. Went looking at bras today. Fought the temptation to buy anything as all these posts say not to waste money till 3-6 months. I have to say the sleeping/ nursing bras look like a good choice. Nipples still taped and sensitive is an understatement. Hubby forgot for second and flicked a nipple playing! Updated on 23 Sep 2016: My boobs are getting softer and dropping. I do Crossfit - so taking this time off has been hard. With my doctors permission I started walking 2.5 miles each morning last week. This week I'm going to add leg raises to that and my dr said I could cycle. I was told today that I don't need to massage them- that apparently is old school??? But I do need to do exercises involving raising my hands above my head for 3 minutes. I noticed this week I really need to watch my posture- I think I was hunched over at work and got back pain. Lol bigger boob problems! I went to Target and found 2 great bras- but the dr said I have 2 more weeks in the sports bra he gave me. (Which I hate by the way. ) I bought some Brooks sports bras from the Internet- the size chart must be off because the size it said I would be barely covered them, so they got returned. Would love to hear brand/ make of sports bras you like for running and Crossfit . Updated on 25 Sep 2016: So before the surgery I was going to Crossfit 5 days a week, now i get winded from arm raises with a pvc pipe! It takes so long for gains- which you lose pretty quick. I am going to take it slow and look out for the girls but I'm surprised by how much I've lost because I didn't go under muscle. Updated on 26 Sep 2016: The other day I went shopping at target to find some bras hoping I would be cleared by my surgeon to wear something other than this ugly sports bra he gave me. Unfortunately I have two more weeks but these are the bras I got. Don't want to spend too much money on anything fancy since they might change. Updated on 26 Sep 2016: Originally I talked to my surgeon and we were going for large season we were going to do 285-325 cc and I decided to g bigger which also allowed me to not have the downward scar on lift which I'm thrill with! I ended up with 400cc - naked they are huge but when I'm dressed sometimes you can't tell - that's how good padded bras are. I said to the Dr. At an appt that sometimes I think they are too big other times I think they are too small- to which he laughed and said I couldn't have gone any bigger! During the swelling stage I agree- I am surprised my nipples didn't pop off from the pressure. They are for my husband and myself and we are happy- that's all that matters! Updated on 12 Oct 2016: Finally 6 weeks is here and I have been cleared to go back to the gym. A few weeks ago I started walking 2-3 miles in the morning, then I added arm raises per my surgeon. Now I'm back at the gym and other than being extremely winded I'm doing well. I did go with overs because I didn't want pecks cut or have the implant move with chest exercises so I wasn't expecting a painful recovery. So far I've done a rope climb, back squats( not near the weight before) Push presses, push ups, and running. I got a Brooks high impact bra so the girls don't move. I did feel nervous running and felt the urge to hold them- lol! ???? Updated on 17 Oct 2016: I've been cleared and have been back at Crossfit - this is my second week back. I was a saggy mess before- I'm sure I was wearing the wrong size bra but now I'm a full 34d- 34dd, depends on bra. Finding sports bra that didn't bounce was not fun and it's even worse getting them off after getting all sweaty. Anyway I got overs 397cc. I've done rope climbs no problem, kettle bell activity sucks - I keep bumping them! Push ups were fine- although I was worried about hand release push ups as your chest rests on the ground and I don't like that feeling, but somehow it didn't hurt. Today we did shoulders and I'm at 65# where I was at 100# pre surgery. Slow and steady - Updated on 20 Oct 2016: Thought I would post some pics . Do I like them ? - yes Do I wish they were different? Yes, I wish they were a little bigger and a little higher but I was trying to avoid the vertical scar of a lollipop lift so I have to deal with a little gravity and not perfect nipple placement. As far as size goes the dr said I couldn't have gone bigger- and at the gym they do get in the way - it's just when in naked for my husband that I wish they/ I were different. I have a pretty wide rib cage and can't change that so.... Sometimes after work all day the nipples seem to swell, I'll try to get a pic sometime. I did some research and I guess it's from the implant putting pressure on them and it will eventually go away. I have I say there are a lot of young beautiful women on here and sometimes reading your stories and seeing your pics makes me feel inadequate - basically a boob job is going to make YOUR boobs bigger, we can't all have Anna1989's boob- she was my wish pic and I've seen her pics in many others wish pics. I have wide set breast and I still do. If your trying to get someone else's boobs your going to be disappointed. Have realistic expectations, and be willing to wait for the final product. I am only 2 months out- they are still changing and I won't really know how they are going to look for another 4-8 months. Be patient! I know I'm trying to. Updated on 20 Oct 2016: Updated on 30 Oct 2016: I have noticed my posture more than pre breast augmentation. I have to really focus on keeping shoulders back and not hunching over. But I can tell a difference with bigger boobs.
I worked hard 4 years ago to lose 140 pounds, but I was still unhappy with my body due to the excess skin hanging around my belly and my breast looked like pancakes that hung to the floor. After consulting with 3 physicians I decided Dr. Wasserman was the most qualified for the job. I am 13 days post op and am very pleased with the results! My stomach actually has shape again and my breasts no longer sag to the floor! I will post pictures soon , as I havent taken any post ops yet. I can't wait to be completely healed so I can go shopping for my new swimsuit! Updated on 4 May 2016: Updated on 9 May 2016: Whew! Surgery sure does take a lot out of you. No longer in any pain, but doing everyday activities still wears me out.
I had a breast reduction many years ago with another plastic surgeon, but I was never satisfied with the results. Years ago I had a tummy tuck by Dr. Wasserman and I was 100% satisfied. For years I've suffered with neck, shoulder and upper back pain largely due to the size of my breast. Dr Wasserman did an excellent job and thanks to him I not only have beautiful breast but, I don't have any more pain. I have recommended Dr Wasserman to all of my friends and family. The end results of any procedure that Dr Wasserman does is EXCELLENT. Thank You to his caring and loving staff they are excellent as well.
Being an attractive 58 year old woman I had a desire to love not only my spirit but also my physical body again. I had lost weight and the excess skin was very unattractive in my midsection. After researching a couple of hundred websites all over the world, I found Dr. Wasserman was in the city where I live.

Based on the photos you shared, it does not appear you would qualify for the Panniculectomy procedure or the Reduction Mammoplasty procedure, but it is always worth a try. Some insurances have different guidelines, but for the Panniculectomy to be approved, there usually needs to be more skin overhang that your pictures show. Many insurances in SC require a fold of skin that hangs below your pubis to even consider the Panniculectomy procedure as medically necessary. Similarly for Reduction surgery, this is often based on your height and weight and something called the Schnur scale. This is a calculation based on height and weight and then states what the minimum number of grams that would need to be removed to qualify as medically necessary. So based on your photos, I would imagine insurance would require approximately 400-600 g/s at a minimum to be removed to qualify as a medically necessary breast reduction. If you removed 400grams from each of your current breasts, it would seem you would be left with less than an A cup. Again, you would need to visit a local Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to get specific information about your desires-Best of luck-
I have to agree with some of the other messages here, as it does not appear from the photos that you are a candidate for panniculectomy at this time. Some additional weight loss may be required. Once you have accomplished this, and based on your medical history, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon near you may recommend muscle wall correction, or additional suction to give you the flat abdomen you desire. Best of luck!
Hello! Congratulations on your weight loss journey thus far! There is not a specific weight that a patient must be to be a candidate for Panniculectomy, but usually your insurance company and Plastic Surgeon do have some specific requirements. Usually the first requirement is having your BMI at less than 40, and if you are able to get it even closer to 35 or less, you would have a better post-surgical result. A stable weight for at least 6 months is also a usual requirement. Meet with a local Board Certified Plastic Surgeon near you to get their specific requirements as well as to see what your insurance will require- Best of luck!
Hello- Thank you for submitting your photos and questions. From the pictures, it would seem that an extended Abdominoplasty or even a Circumferential Torsoplasty would be best. It may take a few surgeries to achieve the hourglass shape you would like, but consult with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon so that you can develop a plan to best suit your desired outcome.Best of luck.
Hello! It can depend on your insurance to determine if a referral is required, based on the state in which you reside. Call your insurance company and ask them what they require in order to have a procedure approved. Some require a referral from the Primary Care. Sometimes the referral notes and supporting documentation is needed to submit a claim to support medical necessity. It all depends on your personal insurance and the state in which you live. Find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon near you to give you specific information regarding your case. Best of luck!
