Had an emergency laparotomy in 2020. What would be the best option to help the appearance of abdomen area?

At this time, I do not believe silicone strips will help with the appearance. You would benefit from a scar revision. This can be done under local and would take about 1 hour to perform.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

no offense but your picture is less than great and you should have included other views of your abdomen as well as your age, ht, weight etc. if you have enough loose skin to do a TT, then that would be very helpful. however, from this one single photo and no other information, it is impossible to tell if you have any loose skin, let alone enough to do a TT.
see a board certified plastic surgeon, or post additional photos and information as suggested above.

From your photo, I note a vertical midline abdominal scar demonstrating depigmentation and contour irregularity. I do not see any evidence of keloid formation (great care!).
The scar appearance may be modified through the performance of scar revision with underlying soft tissue advancement to lessen the contour deformity. The scar can never be erased but potentially can be improved.
Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion.
