Dear chrismeme, every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
chrismeme. Congratulations on your recent surgery. Any further procedures performed after your primary surgery should be discussed with your plastic surgeon. Generally speaking I would wait at least 2 to 3 months before undergoing any further procedures, invasive or not. Good luck.
A MM typically includes a TT, breast augmentation or breast lift, and liposuction. It's unlikely that any two MM patients will recover at the same pace. Much depends upon the health of the patient prior to surgery, and the level of physical activity and lifting following surgery. Total recovery may take six months. Tumescent liposuction in the right hands will produce a more significant result.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
This question is best answered by your surgeon as he/she is most familiar with the details of your surgery and how you've been progressing through recovery. Best wishes!
Your current, not past health is most important to determine if a mommy makeover would be safe for you though all surgery carries risk. To that end, I would ask your vascular thoracic surgeon and your primary care physician to weigh in on relative risks. If they feel you are a reasonable...
If blood sugars are well controlled, end organ damage is minimal, and you are otherwise healthy, the MM can usually be performed safely. Share this info with your PS as he/she will require that you be cleared by your PCP, endocrinologist, or whichever specialist is treating your diabetic ...
Mild GERD symptoms should not interfere with a mommy makeover but if you are having severe symptoms that are causing breathing problems then there is a chance things may need to be delayed. you should discuss it with your PS at your preop appt and see what they have to say once they...
A tummy tuck frequently results in increased intra-abdominal pressure, which may have adverse effect on your venous return. I would specifically discuss this with your physician for medical clearance prior to the tummy tuck. In terms of your breasts and arms, this would not be a factor. Fo...
Thank you for your question and photos. However, an in-person consultation and examination is the best way to fully assess your situation and discuss your aesthetic goals in detail. In my practice, a mommy makeover usually includes breast enhancement (probably a breast lift, in your case), tummy...
This will be something for your surgeon and anesthesiologist to determine. They may want you to get clearance from a cardiologist. It is not unusual for patients to get an elevated blood pressure reading when going to see a doctor, it is referred to as "white coat syndrome." Be sure to consult...
