Crookedness & slight hump - would I benefit from a rhinoplasty, and/or septoplasty? (Photos)

A physical examination is required to determine if you would benefit from septoplasty, in which case this procedure can be combined with rhinoplasty to address structural and cosmetic changes at the same time. Straightening a crooked nose may involve osteotomies, grafts, struts, or a septorhinoplasty procedure to correct a deviated septum. Rhinoplasty may also include an alar base reduction to improve nostril symmetry, and nasal rasping to reduce the nasal hump for a feminine, natural-looking result.

Keep in mind that rhinoplasty is one of the most complex of all plastic surgery procedures, requiring skill, experience, and artistry to produce the best possible result. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques.

Hi @Charming505884! You would be an excellent candidate for a rhinoplasty. I recommend seeing an expert rhinoplasty specialist for an in person examination. There are several options for you that can be determined after examination. In my practice, I utilize piezosurgery. Piezosurgery is a more gentle technique that allows for greater precision. Less bruising and swelling is common with Piezosurgery. In a typical rhinoplasty, a hammer and chisel technique is performed leading to more inadvertent fractures. Best of Luck, Dr. Nima!

I believe that you would benefit from an open rhinoplasty to help with the goals you have described. I would highly recommend seeing a board-eligible of board-certified plastic surgeon with rhinoplasty experience, particularly one with 3D imaging that is capable of simulating your surgery so you can be on the same page regarding the outcome. Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty, I think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Most plastic surgeons like to perform lip lift procedures at a separate time. Best wishes to you.

Based on your photos, there is a slight amount of asymmetry on front view of your nose and a bit of an overprojected appearance on profile. The feasibility of rhinoplasty surgery would require an examination. You seem to have mild issues with dorsum. tip and nostrils. It can be decided only on the basis of in person evaluation and discussion about your goals, whether rhinoplasty would improve your current condition. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgreon, expert in rhinoplasty, is recommended. Good luck.

You have a small hump on your bridge that could be lowered. Asymmetrical nostrils is a tough issue to deal with. You’re probably best off not trying to mess with the nostrils.

Hello! Thank you for your question.From the photos you provided it looks like your nose is crooked (to the right). One nostril is higher than the other one. The hump is very small but noticeable.You can proceed for a rhinoplasty surgery, but please keep in mind that 100% symmetry is not possible.Best regards!

A rhinoplasty is an elective cosmetic surgical procedure. It will only "benefit" you if you dislike the appearance of your nose enough to be willing to have surgery. While you have a nice nose as it is, the minor changes you are considering are certainly achievable and may help to alleviate the insecurities you have about the appearance of your nose.
