Why am I hearing popping/clicking in my three year old silicone implants?

Thanks for ur question! It's common to hear of a popping or squeaking sensation, I've heard it also more commonly from people at higher altitudes. It's probably just normal changes of the capsule around ur implant. However, if u r really concerned, u can always follow up with ur plastic surgeon, & get some basic breast imaging like a mammogram &/or ultrasound. Enjoy!

Thanks for your inquiry and you are right your symptoms are very unusual all of sudden this far out after surgery.  Without an exam it is impossible to advise.  I read Dr Stagnone's answer below about the observation he has seen with altitude.  As for continued skiing, probably best to call your doctor to discuss.  Good Luck.

emergency and no reason to cancel the rest of your vacation.The sounds may be caused by the development
of a capsule around the implant, or even a rupture in the worst case.I would encourage you to schedule an
appointment with your surgeon immediately after your trip to determine the
source of the sounds.

I’m sorry for you current situation.The sounds you are hearing could be a few different things.It could be a sign of a capsule around the
implant, it could be an implant rupture, or a number of other things, but it is
not an emergency.It does need to be
examined by a Plastic Surgeon to verify the implant integrity, but you can do
this when you return home.I hope this

Dear Kellysuei have to say that is rather unusual. Is there any tightness of the implant pocket at all? I want to rule out any folding of the implant due to contracture. Visit your surgeon for a check up when you go back home. 

This is interesting because my wife (has implants) experiences the same thing when we vacation at high altitude and a few weeks ago I had a worried augmentation patient of mine present after a ski trip worried about the same thing. In both cases, once back in Texas the exam was entirely normal and it completely resolved. I've never read anything to clearly explain this phenomenon but it appears to be altitude related and in these cases resolved upon returning to "normal" altitude. I'm guessing it's related to a small, temporary and harmless  fluid collection but if it doesn't resolve once you get home, a visit to your plastic surgeon would probably be adviseable.
