What could have caused the lump at the tip of the nose after 6th months post op? (photos)

Question

Hello its been six months since I got my rhinoplasty done. It was a smooth process which Im thankful to my doctor. But today I’ve noticed a bump at the tip of my nose, like a hard lump. It wasn’t there two days ago. I messaged my doctor, we made an appointment for next month. He said it is not sth to be worried about but he’ll evelatue the cause. I could feel that hard lump after surgery but it wasnt visible now it is visible to the eye. What could be the cause?

A bossa is visible nasal tip cartilage that may be seen after rhinoplasty surgery. It is associated with thin nasal tip skin. Depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections may be considered for camouflaging it for a less operated nasal appearance. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

I would find out if you had a cartilage graft in the tip. If that’s a cartilage graft it may be best to have it removed which is pretty straightforward

Hello and thank you for your question. It really depends on the techniques used by your surgeon. Sometimes this will improve with time and sometimes this will require a revision to smooth the tip. You are doing the right thing by staying in close communication with your surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

There are not a lot of things that develop overnight like that. One would be acne which thus does not look like. I’m guessing it’s a benign mole or sebaceous cyst. 
I don’t think it’s related to your procedure nor do I think it’s dangerous or serious unless it gets worse rapidly. 
Follow up with your provider.
