Shortening the nasal tip cartilages can create a more natural and aesthetically pleasing look. Smoothing the nasal bridge and slightly raising the radix can provide a straighter side profile. Additionally, narrowing the nasal bones with osteotomies and reducing the alar width through alarplasty can enhance the front view of your nose. All these procedures aim to maintain balance and proportion, achieving a natural appearance without overly Westernizing the features.

The ideal nasal shape will greatly depend on your personal aesthetic. At least to my eye, I do think your nose will look more balanced with a slight augmentation to your radix (area of the bridge between the eyes), which will create a smoother appearance to your dorsum and bridge. The tip of your nose may be slightly long and ptotic, and may benefit from some rotation (lifting). Other changes could also be made, but again will depend on your specific aesthetic goals and ideals.

African american rhinoplasty typically involves 4 different components. Some patients need them all, some only one or two. Here are the 4 components.
1. Improvement of the bridge height with an implant (In your case you actually have a small hump which needs to be removed, so it is the opposite of what I normally see in most of my African American patients.
2. Narrowing of the wide upper nose (bony part) with osteotomies.
3. Narrowing of the tip (Tip-plasty)
4. Narrowing of the nostrils (Alarplasty)
