Rib cartilage is a building block surgeons used to add structure and support to the nose. Each surgeon will have differing levels of expertise, experience and artistry in using this building block to reshape the nose. That being said, the plan your surgeon suggested sounds reasonable. If you feel comfortable with your surgeon, like his/her previous work on patients that are similar to you, then he/she should be able to give you a realistic idea of what is achievable during surgery.

Hello from Istanbul. This plan appears to be well-thought-out. As a surgeon performing over 300 ethnic rhinoplasty procedures annually, I agree with the proposed adjustments. Based on your photos, I would also recommend osteotomies to achieve the desired outcome. Best of luck to you!

In short, yes. Without knowing exactly what you want (unless it's the last photo), all of those are standard rhino maneuvers for the african american rhinoplasty.

The plan sounds good but rib graft might be excessive. A silicone implant works well without harvesting your own rib. Also you have to make sure you communicate with your surgeon if you want your nose to look caucasian nose or maintain your ethnic look.
African american rhinoplasty typically involves 4 different components. Some patients need them all, some only one or two. Here are the 4 components.
1. Improvement of the bridge height with an implant.
2. Narrowing of the wide upper nose (bony part) with osteotomies.
3. Narrowing of the tip (Tip-plasty)
4. Narrowing of the nostrils (Alarplasty)
