Hi! I'm female on late 20s, hoping for chin liposuction. While visiting South Korea, I got consultations and all the doctors I met told that I should get thread lifts while doing chin liposuction. It was explained that this helps the skin to sit higher when the fat is removed = better permanent results. Is this common procedure and is it worth to get the thread lifts? I have seen that the results of threads are not very permanent, and do not want to pay for something which is not worth it.
Answer: Chin liposuction and Threadlift Thank you for your question. In general, in the late 20s, there can be slight laxity along the jawline and under the chin. A combination with thread lifts can potentially enhance the appearance of the jawline and chin. This technique is potentially more popular in South Korea due to the desire for a V-shaped contour of the face, which is relatively common. It is also possible to get a reasonable understanding of what liposuction could achieve without the thread lift using 3D imaging and simulation. To some degree, the results of surgery will vary from any computer simulation, but if you feel that the characteristics of the change from liposuction are not sufficient, you could consider combining liposuction and a thread lift. The alternative would be to have liposuction and a minimal access facelift, but it sounds like your problem is not significant enough for this approach.

Answer: The combination makes sense, but... We have seen many problems with thread lifting and it is something that we do not offer. In the right patients, neck liposuction can lead to dramatic lifting of the neck tissues. Thank you for your excellent question. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Chin liposuction combined with threads Chin liposuction can be combined with threads (temporary or permanent) to prevent or reduce the risk of skin sagging after liposuction. When the age is older or elasticity of the skin is not enough to be tight then neck lifting can be a good option. When the patient has a moderate quality of elasticity threads are a good option to make skin tighter. Threads can also help to improve mandible borders especially the jawline and cervicomental angle.

Answer: Do Threads Lyft work You hit it on the head thread lips are very temporary treatment options that are quite expensive. If you wish limited results, then go ahead and have thread lifts. Otherwise do not consider them.

Answer: What is value? The outcome of most plastic surgery procedures are based on two variables. The first is the candidacy of the patient for the procedure. The second is the skill of the provider.Personally, I’m not Big fan of thread.Leaving permanent suture in the face just doesn’t seem like a good idea to me.I’ve not met anyone who was happy with the results, but I don’t live in South Korea.I generally do not recommend people travel long distances for elective surgical procedures.People seem to not appreciate the importance of proper providers by having multiple in person consultations before choosing a provider, the number of people who are unhappy with the results and postoperative care, that complications actually or how many people will end up needing revision surgery. It’s a free world and people can do what they like. What you describe is not something I would consider.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
