Hi. I am 26 years old woman Who recently Lost a lot of Weight. I Have already jowls and marionette lines. I would like to Have a deep plane facelift, but can It Be done at any age?
Answer: Would I benefit from a deep plane facelift? The deep plane facelift can have amazing results, but it is not always the right thing for everyone. I would recommend having a consultation to really understand what areas of your face are most concerning to you. If you are looking to have a more defined neck line, a deep necklift would be a powerful technique to achieve that. I have done necklift procedures without a combined facelift in younger patients without major facial laxity with life changing results. You do have beautiful skin quality and your upper face would likely respond well to non-surgical procedures that stimulate collagen deposition such as Sofwave. Sofwave uses high frequency ultrasound that is preserves facial fat. The last thing you want is to destroy your facial fat with rounds of deep radiofrequency microneedling. At times someone that is young would benefit from a facelift, and that is a determination that has to be made in person. I have to feel your skin and tissues to see the level of laxity and also to understand what your specific goals are. The best plan is one in which the surgeon and the patient really get to connect, educate one another, and formulate a plan that is right for you. Warm regards, Lily Daniali, MD FACS

Answer: Is a Deep Plane Facelift Suitable at Any Age? Hi! It’s great that you’re exploring your options. While a deep plane facelift can technically be performed at any age, it’s generally more advisable to wait until you’re closer to your 40s. At 26, your skin is still relatively youthful, and the natural aging process hasn’t progressed enough to fully benefit from such a comprehensive procedure. If done too early, you might notice changes sooner as aging continues, and it could mean requiring another surgery down the line. Instead, treatments like fillers, skin tightening procedures, or a less invasive approach might be better suited for your current concerns, such as jowls and marionette lines. A consultation with an experienced surgeon can help you explore these options and create a plan that fits your goals while preserving your natural beauty. Answer: Deep plane facelift in a young woman You are awfully young for any kind of facelift. Several of the photos provided are in animation which distorts the natural contours by the action of the muscles. Your neck may have some residual fullness that could be helped by judicious liposuction. Do not be in a hurry to rush to surgery. Weight loss and gains come and go over time. All the Best, Dr. J

Answer: Deep Plane Facelift Considerations Hello, hope you are well. Technically speaking, a deep plane facelift can be done at virtually any age--instead I'll answer "should it be done at my age?" The answer to that is a simple 'no', not really. I would instead suggest FaceTite or similar RF-based, incisionless technology. Best, Dr. Tower

Answer: Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should be done You still have great skin tone and elasticity. A facelift, from a surgical technique standpoint, can be performed at any age. The individual anatomy dictates appropriateness more than chronological age, and in your case less-invasive and nonsurgical modalities such as energy based skin tightening devices would be a better starting point.
