3mos post vollure lumps, swelling at inj sites, 7 days cephalexin, 2 rounds reversal, steroids 5 days. SWELLING again. Help? Allergic to tetracyclines and sulfa that is why doc used cephalexin. Lumps are hard

Thank you for sharing your question. Nothing replaces an in-person examination of your tissues but if you feel firm lumps that are due to filler placement you will most likely need to pursue additional rounds of hyaluronidase to dissolve the remaining Vollure.  I would continue to explore this possibility with your injector. Hope this helps.

Bruising, swelling, sometimes discoloration, lumps, and bumps are normal side effects assuming proper injection. They should be gone in a matter of days. In general, if it continues to feel uncomfortable up to this time, consult your doctor to get a complete assessment or have the filler dissolved if filler is still left.

Inflammatory reactions and nodules after Voluma, Volbella and Vollure injections have been reported. These reactions have been reported weeks to months after injection and sometimes have been associated with recent dental work. Some people have felt that they are related to the development of a biofilm in the area of injection. They generally are best treated with a 6-8 week course of antibiotics. They generally take 6-8 weeks to resolve. Dissolving this type of hyaluronic acid can be challenging. I would suggest following up with a trusted provider who is experienced in filler complications and considering a longer course of antibiotics that you can tolerate if this is the type of reaction you are experiencing.

Hi, it would be best if you can post pictures. However, you may need a higher dose of hylenex. As physician, we always start with a small dose of hylenex and add more if needed. Very high dose at once can take away your own HA. Hope this helps, Best Dr.Thuy Doan
