Answer: Diet before surgery? A combination of diet and exercise is your best bet. Eating a well-balanced diet consisting of "clean" foods combined with exercise that includes cardio and strengthening can lead to long-lasting results. Most attempts to lose weight are more successful when you initiate permanent changes your patterns of diet and exercise. Fad diets may help you lose weight in the short-term, but people almost always gain the weight back.

Answer: Dieting Before Surgery Hello, thank you for your question! Choosing to go into surgery at a more healthy and maintainable weight is a great idea, and you have given yourself a good window of time to achieve this before 2018. The best way to lose weight in a way that it cannot be quickly regained after is to go the route of diet/ exercise rather than fad or crash diets. If you feel you are stuck at your current weight and are doing everything right perhaps consult with a physician and professional nutritionist or dietician, you may need to up your regime. Good luck!

Answer: Diet before BBL Uploaded photos would be helpful in providing feedback. Recommend you schedule an exam with your PCP to discuss a weight reduction and exercise program. A gym membership with a good trainer would possibly help you overcome the weight loss plateau. You will get a better result and have fewer complications at a lower weight which is held stable for 3 - 6 months prior to the BBL.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
