I believe you have answered your own question. If you feel it is too big...then it is too big. The question now is whether it is too much horizontal projection, too much width or a combination of both. Most likely it is a 3D problem...both horizontal and width excesses. Bringing the chin projection out to a vertical line dropped down from the lips is a common aesthetic problem and does not work for everyone particularly in smaller and more narrow facial features. This is compounded when extended chin implant styles are used which then adds undesirable width.
