Ingrown hairs and tummy tuck in women of color?

I’m a woman of color, I am wondering when doing a tummy tuck, does pulling the pubic area up cause in grown hairs to grow underneath the incision scar—therefore causing a keloid scar or complications.

Keloid - abnormal result of wound healing, some ethnicities are predisposed
Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty includes the top half of the torso where the muscles are are approximated, the skin is "ironed out" and smoothed. 
Mons lift is often incorporated with an abdominoplasty and involves lifting and smoothing the suprapubic area which is often hair bearing. This can also be thinned as needed. 
A board certified plastic surgeon can guide you as to what you need to achieve your functional and aesthetic goals. 
In my experience ingrown hairs are not an issue with this incision.

Hello and thank you for your question. I perform the drainless tummy tuck for my patients and I routinely elevate the mons pubis as many of my patients have some looseness there. They are very pleased with their results and have not had any issues with in grown hairs or keloids or such complications. Occasionally, a few patients may have some delayed wound healing around their incision but this can happen anywhere and not just on the pubic area and it resolves after adequate treatment. We usually keep the scar low and pull the belly skin DOWN rather than the pubic skin UP, so the center part of the scar is in the pubic region, nicely hidden under underwear. If a keloid scar develops, it's still hidden. The hair acts the same as in other scar locations
