Ive seen some drs perform drainless tt and others that say youd have to drain it out later with a needle anyway so may as well place the drains. Are all patients candidates for drainless tt? And if u are a candidate is that a personal choice to have it drainless or the doctors choice?
I just read a review of drainless tummy tucks by a board certified plastic surgeon in my area who says she prefers traditional abdominoplasty (with drains) because the progressive tension sutures used for a drainless tummy tuck can be obviously and indefinitely visible from the outside. Is this accurate?
I have been going back and forth on one Dr. who does drainless TT's and the other who does not. Both have great results but when asking both about drains vs not drains they both seem to contradict each other. I am torn because drains seem like more work and kind of scary. But I was told you cannot pull as tight if doesn't have drains. How do you decide? Is it this big of a deal that I'm making it out to be?
I have posted before asking what doctors thought was wrong with my tummy tuck procedure and my surgeon has finally told me it's the muscle in my lower abdomen and it sometimes happens but has said nothing about a revision but did say I could get liposuction for my dog ears and protruding hips. My bulge is sore and I feel very self conscious in clothes more than I did before. Should I pursue to have muscle tightening.
I have had two aspirations already. The first had about 160 cc of tinged fluid and the second 3 days later had 75cc. I am going in this morning for my third. Is this common? I have no bulge just fluid around belly button area that moves like a waterbed if I touch it. No pain.
Some doctors insert drains after a TT for 1-2 weeks and another consultation told me he doesn't use drains but rather uses a different suturing procedure that doesn't require drains. I would rather not have drains but wonder where does all that extra fluid go that would normally drain out of the drain? Will I be more swollen without a drain? Is this a newer technique or a gimmick?
iam currentlycurrently doing my research on board certified plastic surgeons to do my tummy tuck and breast augmentation but I came across something called a drainless tummy tuck and it sounds really interesting and I have read lots of great reviews from women about it like less swelling ,quicker recovery , no stich removal ...ECT ... but I was wondering can you give me some of your thoughts about it ? PRO'S and CON'S ? And would you recommend it ? Thank you in advance
