How long should I wait between Accutane and a facelift?

Accutane is a serious medication and I would avoid it unless truly indicated. There are other routes that can be pursued which a good Dermatologist can direct you through. If you do take Accutane, I would wait at least 6 months prior to surgery.

Hello, thank you for your question. Its a great drug for acne and has incredible result but yes accutane can affect healing. Usually after one year you are pretty safe to proceed. Excellent question. There is a lot of debate on this issue. I would say a minimum of 6 months. Some surgeons suggest longer. The longer the skin flap in the type of facelift performed the higher the post operative risk of flap necrosis. Perhaps seeing your dermatologist or aesthetician for a less aggressive regimen would be the best approach.
