Accutane is a serious medication and I would avoid it unless truly indicated. There are other routes that can be pursued which a good Dermatologist can direct you through. If you do take Accutane, I would wait at least 6 months prior to surgery.

Excellent question. There is a lot of debate on this issue. I would say a minimum of 6 months. Some surgeons suggest longer. The longer the skin flap in the type of facelift performed the higher the post operative risk of flap necrosis. Perhaps seeing your dermatologist or aesthetician for a less aggressive regimen would be the best approach.

The typical course for accutane is five months.,so there is plenty of time between the end of your course and your facelift.

One option would be to undergo the facelift first ,and then get on the Accutane later. If you're going to go on the Accutane first, then it's probably best to be off of it for 3 to 6 months before undergoing a facelift procedure. Accutane is for severe cystic acne, not garden variety perimenopausal acne. I would avoid the accutane all together and find a good dermatologist who can clear up your breakout with a less aggressive treatment plan. But to answer your question, at least six months,
