To prevent another scar, the same incision could likely be used again if a capsulectomy is not required and the implants have not ruptured. Some patients feel that the primary drawback of the transaxillary incision location is that it can only be used once. Implant removal will necessitate you incurring new scars typically in the inframmary or periareolar areas.

That's about as simple as you can get- no surgeon should have any issues removing your implants through your axillary incision, without capsulectomy.

Removal of breast implants via a transaxillary incision can be done, but it is not the preferred approach. You may want to visit with the surgeon who placed the implants to see about removal. Incisions made for other removal approaches such as inframammary fold, typically heal very well and the scar can be hard to see once mature.

Go back to your surgeon who inserted the implant. Usually implants are not removed from the axillary incision, especially if the capsule needs to be removed.

Hello and thanks for the question. I do perform breast implant removal through the armpit. Your procedure can be performed but you should aware that you will have saggy breast tissue after the procedure.
