Am I a good candidate for revision rhinoplasty? (Photos)

I had a rhinoplasty+septo about 19 months ago. I can breath , my nose is not as wide anymore. But it is too high for me. The bride and especially the tip. Its uptured and unnatural. I feel so uncomfortable i try to never take my mask off. Is there anything that can be put in the tip? I had a very flat and wide asian nose. Can all the ear cartilage just be removed? What are the options I have if any.

Hello, and thank you for providing photos along with your question. Based on these images, you appear to have an upturned tip that looks unnatural, and that can be fixed with a revision rhinoplasty. Simple removal of the ear cartilage from the tip is not a good solution for your nose.You are a good candidate for revisional rhinoplasty.Correction of upturned tip is only possible through realignment of alar cartilages of the nasal tip to the caudal direction using ear or septal cartilage graft. This is a very effective surgery and good natural result can be expected.

Absolutely. If you are unhappy with your nasal appearance it is worth pursuing. You have an over rotated tip with loss of definition. You dorsum (bridge) is over resected (scooped out).  A revision rhinoplasty is not the same type of procedure as a primary rhinoplasty. Please consult with an experienced expert in revision nasal surgery to discuss your options. Best of luck.

I agree that your nose does appear too upturned and could absolutely be made to look more natural. In my office, I prefer a more natural, elegant approach to rhinoplasty – one that is harmonious with patients’ ethnicity and facial structure. Normally I direct patients to meet with their original surgeon, but I fear in your case that your surgeon’s aesthetic was not aligned with yours. You have waited the requisite time and can now absolutely consider revision rhinoplasty. I would not venture to diagnose exactly the approach that should be taken unless I were to examine you in person, but know that your result can be greatly improved. There are many different grafts that can be implemented to correct your result. Revision rhinoplasty requires a much more complex skill set, so please do your research to find a surgeon who has decades of experience with revision rhinoplasty.
