When can I start diet pills? (photos)

Question

Hi it's been 3 weeks out of my breast augmentation surgery and i was trying to start my diet capsules is it ok to start them now? I took a pic of the ingredients thanks in advance .. its because i notice weight gain after the surgery so trying to get rid of it im also taking the shakes

In our practice we tell most of our patients that they can usually resume their regular medications (excluding aspirin and blood thinners) 1-2 weeks after surgery. However if you have had any issues with your recovery then your surgeon may want you to wait longer before starting your pills. It is always a good idea to check with the surgeon who performed your surgery since they will have the best idea whether or not you have any extenuating circumstances.

Dear stuck with theseIn my experience, supplements and diet pill can be safely resumed at 3-4 weeks post surgery. Having said that, I highly recommend discussing the matter with you surgeon for timing and with your primary care doctor for overall safety and effectiveness.

If you are trying to lose weight, the best way to achieve this is through diet and exercise. Most diet pills contain either stimulants,  appetite suppressants or both. The ingredients of the diet pill you are taking include numerous extracts from different plant based products and who know what the active ingredients are. If you want a lasting weight loss, this entails a change in your lifestyle i.e. dietary and exercise habits. Most diet pills result in "yo-yo" effect on your weight where you may lose several pounds in a short period of time but as soon as you stop taking your diet pill, you gain most if not all the weight back and then some. Commit yourself to regular daily exercise even for just 15-20 minutes. Some exercise is better than none. Keep a food diary to keep track of what you eat daily. Try to cut back on processed food and carbohydrates. Eat plenty of vegetables, some fruits and lean meat. Drink lots of water, avoid soda and sugary drinks. If you stick to this game plan, I can guarantee that you will lose some weight. I wish you good luck.

It appears as though your diet pills are actually a supplement as opposed to something like phentermine, which could have negative effects on newly healing tissues.  However, having said that, the problem with supplements are that they are complex mixtures of compounds found in plants, and sometimes their exact activity in the body is unknown or unpredictable.  Thus, it is always best to check with your surgeon about the specific supplement in question and his or her specific recommendations about it.

Unfortunately, there are no specific chemicals listed on this ingredient list.  It is probably safe to take this if you have taken it in the past, but check first with your surgeon.
