3 wks post op and I can hear/feel my implant move up and down when I massage! Is this normal? I've never felt it before (Photo)

Question

I am now 3 weeks post op. Started massaging on week 2 . Never heard or even felt the implant move inside me. But today I began to feel my implant rise up and down aswell as hear the implant move up against my chest wall when I massage. I only on my left breast. It worries me because last night my boyfriend and I were messing around and he accidentally pined me down to the mattress from my waist up (forgetting about try boobs) does this have anything to do with it ? Could I have damaged SOMtHING?

Thank you for your question and photo.  It is not unusual to be able to feel your implant as the swelling goes down after surgery.  Playful manipulation of the breast will not cause an issue.  As long as the breast is not significantly swollen, you will be fine.  Follow up with your surgeon at your next appointment and voice any concerns if they still persist.

Some awareness of movement is normal but you may have stretched something with the vigorous activity. Have you plastic surgeon see you to make sure everything is ok.

It is definitely normal to feel the implant moving in these early stages and even to hear sloshing/bubbly sounds as well. However, given your description it would be prudent to visit your surgeon to be examined as well.

Massaging your breasts after surgery is a good idea. You just need to be more careful. Please check with you surgeon so he/she could examine you.

After your initial swelling goes down and your breast tissue and skin relax to accept your new implant device, the implant becomes palpable. It is expected for round silicone breast implants to be mobile and palpable within the implant cavity that was created. You may want to discuss this feeling with your plastic surgeon, but it sounds normal.
