What should I be doing to recover from circumferential lipo on thighs?
Answer: What should I do to recover from thigh liposuction? The bruising seen in your photo is a normal appearance after liposuction. Although it is important to not do strenuous exercise, it is important to be up and walking to prevent the risk of a blood clot forming in the thighs/legs. It is the frequency of walking and not the length/duration that is important. Elevating the legs also can help with any swelling

Answer: Circumferential Liposuction Hello, and thank you for your question and photos. Although, you do have a moderate amount of bruising, this will not affect your result. Some people bruise more than others. This is usually more evident the lighter your skin is. Ambulation helps to move fluid through, and elevation of uour lower extremities when your sitting will help. I have several patients that have utilized manual lymphatic drainage to help with pain and swelling. If you look up MLD therapist, you should be able to locate one in your area. This is a special massage technique that helps fluid exit the lymph system quicker and when swelling and fluid is eliminated, pain and discomfort improves. This will also improve with time, but if you want to be proactive you can read about MLD. Many of my patients also use Arnica Montana. This is a homeopathic remedy to help with pain and bruising. You apply and massage bruised areas 2-3x/ day. Truthfully, it is probably the massage of the areas that is beneficial but it is worth trying. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Answer: Liposuction recovery You follow all of the rules of your surgeon for healing your best. Wound at rest heals best so do not over do. Massage helps after 10 days or so. Eat well, sleep well, and take care of yourself. Take medication prescribed by your doctor. Wounds heal at their own speed. You will heal but it takes one year to totally heal from liposuction.
