Would pressure/sleeping positions affect fat grafting on the face?

Yes, sleeping with your face pressed into a pillow could affect your final fat graft results. We advise patients to sleep on their backs with their heads elevated for at least a week following facial fat grafting surgery.We also advise patients to avoid rubbing their face for at least 2 weeks (only soft washing is advised).Be sure to speak with the plastic surgeon who performed your surgery to get more specific advice and follow your post-op instructions as closely as possible to ensure the best possible outcome.Best wishes!

Thank you for your question in regards to fat transfer. During the post-op time of a fat transfer, it is typically not reccomended to put any pressure on that specific area. It is best to review post-care instructions with your provider. To be sure, see two or more board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for a full and complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have surgery.
