Tummy tuck drainage is still leaking and has odor 2 weeks after antibiotics. What should I do now?

Hello. Great question. Sorry for your post op difficulties. Your surgeon should be monitoring you very closely. An insertion of a drain may be necessary. However, with out a personal examination or images it will be difficult to provide you with a proper assessment. Good luck with your recovery.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  Any infection of a recently operated on site should be aggressively managed to avoid secondary issues.  I would strongly recommend revisiting your surgeon for an in-person examination to ensure your healing is turning around.  There should not be any poop smell and more aggressive wound management may be required.  Hope this helps.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having from your tummy tuck. From your description you need to be closely followed by your surgeon. If the infection is not resolving further action is needed. Contact your surgeon promptly to discuss your findings.

You need to be seen by your surgeon, and yes, it could be quite serious if your permanent stitches become infected or the colon was nicked.
