I am 10 pounds underweight for my age and height, is gaining weight a good option for my situation to get bigger breasts?

A lot of people say weight gain is one of the ways to increase breast size and because I'm underweight by 10 pounds, I think it would also be healthy for me, right? I'm 5'4 and 100 pounds. The goal weight is 110-115 pounds to be at a healthy weight. What are the chances of my breast size going up? and by how much with a rough estimate?

Thank you for your question.  If you gain weight, it is difficult to say if, and by how much, your breast size will increase.  Everyone carries their weight differently.  This means that if you gain that much weight, it will not necessarily be volume added to your breasts. This is a difficult question to answer since everyone's body is different.  Some women can gain 15 pounds and their breasts do not change at all, while others will see a noticeable change. You will not know until you gain the weight and see what happens.

Don't go by numbers so much...  If you feel you would be a little healthier with an additional 10lbs, go for it!  But it may not have much affect on your breasts.  Or it may have a huge affect on your breasts!  You won't know until you try...  People gain weight in all different areas, not just the breast -- so it may just give you love handles instead!

Many women do not gain much, if any, with only a ten pound weight gain. What you might gain will probably be minimal. A safe way to increase your breast size is with an augmentation. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing all your concerns.

Some women do gain weight in their breasts as they put on weight; many more unfortunately gain it areas they don't like - and it would be highly abnormal to gain weight only in the breasts. It is important to maintain a healthy weight; BMI is a good guideline however it is primarily a tool to stratify risks associated with obesity (eg diabetes). Your BMI is 17.2 and as long as you have a healthy diet and moderate exercise program with normal menstrual cycles, you don't necessarily 'need' to gain weight; implicit in this statement is an assumption that you do not have an unhealthy body image or weightloss habits (eg anorexia or bulimia). All that being said, in this country obesity tends to be a bigger problem and it seems most people gain weight as they age so I may not be in a rush to expedite that process! ;)

Some, but not all, women will notice a measurable size change in their breasts with weight change. But 10-15# distributed over your entire 5'4" frame is not going to make any significant difference.
