I've found out most chin implants are placed at the very bottom of the mandible. From what I've seen, that adds a tiny bit of vertical length to the chin regardless if the implant intended to do that. Are there options to have it placed slightly higher or so absolutely zero length is added to the chin? I only want projection but no length or width added.

Answer: Placement of chin implants At Plant can be placed so it gives either full vertical or full horizontal projection and usually it’s a combination of both. That said I would say most chin implants, focus on giving horizontal projection more than vertical projection because that’s what most people need and are looking for. When done correctly the implant will be positioned in the way that best suits the patient. If you have a plastic surgeon, then talk to him or her about your concerns and ask them to show you lots of before, but after pictures of previous patients who had similar facial characteristics, so you have a good understanding of what your results will look like.
