I wanted a bbl until I read about the aftercare, so Im wondering once I get aggressive lipo of the abdomen, flanks, and back area, is it possible to get a round look of my hips w/o getting a bbl I have projection but no hips Im 50years old five girls,4"111/2,162lbs, type 2diabetic, exercising regularly, and will loose about 15-20lbs before the procedure am I unrealistic or am I stuck with this square shape?. btw I had hips at one time they disappeared. I never had lipo but had a tt 11 years ago.

Body contouring/liposuction has evolved over the past years and is not just about fat reduction but more so about sculpting and defining. In patients who have smaller problem areas, you want an energy based device to help melt fat and tighten skin. as well, it helps to define and shape the musculature. This type of liposuction requires a specialized body contouring specialist who is trained in 4D hi definition procedures and can do fat removal with both deep and superficial liposculpture. Please see an expert for sculpting and defining procedures, whos practice is dedicated to these types of surgeries. Thank you for the question and picture.I think you have a reasonable focused request.  I think if you have a reasonable expectation then a BBL may be an option.Liposuction of the back rolls and the love handles would harvest enough fat to transfer to the buttocks area around the hips to transform your post-anterior shape of the buttock from a square to an inverted triangle and give you more posterior projection.  The back and flank skin responds well to traditional liposuction by contracting after the volume is deflated.Your diabetes is a concern for healing and therefore I would recommend you consult in person with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for best recommendations.Best regards Nagi T Ayoub MD, FACS

Thank you for the question and the photographs. Achieving a round look to your hips and improving the contour of the waist line can be done through the use of liposuction. What cannot be predicted is the capability of the skin to retract after the operation. If after the procedure your skin does not retract a second abdominoplasty or even an extended abdominoplasty may be required. I hope this helps. Best of luck.

Hello. What I'd recommend is to do a liposuction of your back and flanks together with a lipo-abdominoplasty, after you reach the weight you're comfortable with. Your skin quality looks good for retraction after conservative liposuction. This will allow you to see if you're happy with the results, and you can still decide to have a butts lift in a second stage. Liposuction allows for nice recontouring.Keep in mind that such a procedure can only address the fat layers which are outside (above) the abdominal cavity. It means that all the intra-abdominal fat will still bulge unless you loose some with diet and exercise.All the best.

Thank you for your question.  What I tell patients with your body type is that you can accentuate the waist line by removing fat from abdomen, love handle area and back, by liposuction.  This will then accentuate your hips more.  Fat can be added into the hips and buttocks to give fullness if desired.

I definitely think that it would be best for you to reach your goal weight before moving forward with liposuction in order to contour your body. Being at your goal weight will help your results to be more effective. During the liposculpture procedure fat will be removed from your waistline, tummy area and your back.  Overall, to The eye, your body will look more sculpted and your curves much improved.The Brazilian butt lift should not be completely ruled out due to aftercare only. Many of my patients return to work after Brazilian butt lift just days after surgery. Most of my patients go directly home after the surgery and do not require a stay at in aftercare facility. I understand you have diabetes, which can lead to healing to delays. With monitoring and proper post surgical treatment, I still feel confident that you will be able to have your procedures. I don't think liposuction will deliver impressive results for you.Based on your pictures you have quite a bit of redundant or loose skin and intra-abdominal fat. You may want to consider having a revision of your abdominoplasty removing skin all the way around to the back.This with weight loss may give you a more impressive results.  The recovery after a BBL can be a little challenging because of limitations of sitting etc.  Talk to one or more board-certified plastic surgeon's to see what your options are.It's always good to go over all the different options.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
