Also, after the procedure where the cannula was used to remove the fat those are the areas where the swelling would be at? If you try to touch those areas on your body after the surgery would you feel some sort to pain?

The places the cannula was used to remove the fat will swell after surgery.  The pain varies but generally is described as a bruised or extremely sore area and not the sharp cutting pain typical of surgery.  Most patients will recover quickly from liposuction.

In a procedure of lipocontouring the cannula would be passed through the area at different angles so the fat can be more effectively removed.  So certainly swelling would be at the areas where lipo is performed but swelling can also be in adjacent areas.

Thank you for the question. The surgical area will swell as a response to the trauma of the procedure and be somewhat sore to touch. This will all peak and begin to resolve within the first 3 months. The majority of the swelling and healing will be resolved after about 6 months. That is why I tend to tell patients that they will not see their results for at least 6 months. I hope this helps.
