Thank you for your question. Bra sizes vary considerably from one manufacturer to another. Your decision should be based on a discussion between you and your plastic surgeon as to what your own goals are for your outcome based on pictures, sizers, 3D imaging, and your own body measurements. It sounds like you're happy with the 450cc implants, but if you're uncertain, be sure to talk to your plastic surgeon again regarding your concerns. Best of luck to you.
Usually if a woman wears a size 36 AB bra and would like to be a C cup, which is the average size that women wear and the average size bra that is sold, she needs a volume of approximately 350 to 390 cc to make that change. This becomes less if she's wearing a 34 bra, because it has a smaller strap size and the cups have a smaller diameter. A smaller diameter implant would then be a volume of approximately 300 to 350 cc. In the same way if she was more petite, maybe a double zero or size one and wore a 32 AB bra, then to become a 32C cup she would only require about 250 to 300 cc. This is a general number, and of course there are other factors that will affect this. Other factors which contribute to the outcome are size, shape, and profile. The #profile is determined by the amount of #projection versus roundness that the you desire, as well as the #size of the implant and size of your chest. Also, the placement or incision location will also have an effect on profile. Another element to a satisfying result of your #augmentation is realistic #expectations.Talk to your surgeon at greater length and be sure to view before and after pictures and reviews beforehand to gain more reassurance of the procedure.
Your mom is probably right. I generally don't try and push ladies from an A to a DD in a single surgery, unless there is a considerable amount of skin envelope present. I'm conservative. If the skin envelope is tight and the patient has not had children, I don't try and push my efforts with big implants. You are more likely to get stretch marks and have problems with capsules and malposition. IF you're determined to be very big, go in stages with two separate surgeries. More predictable and not as bad on the skin. That said, if you're trying to get to the biggest possible size, I prefer using the nipple approach (also more capsule risk) and an ultra high profile or high profile implant. This will put the most roundness into the breast and match a more narrow base width.
Cup sizes are variable based on your existing breast shape and size of implant. It is important for the surgeon to perform measurements and determine what width of implant will fit your body. Then you can determine projection. 450 cc is a moderately large implant but it may work well for you if your goal is to be a d cup
Breast Implant Size is a combination of subjective and objective criteria. There is not a direct correlation between the cc's of a breast implant and the corresponding cup size, as cup size is an inexact measurement that varies considerably among companies and even within the same company. Online consultants will not be able to guide you as well as surgeons who perform in person consultation. The size of the implants are based on a combination of a patient's goals and objectives and her anatomy. In order to provide a natural looking augmentation, the surgeon needs to evaluate many factors including soft tissue coverage, skin laxity, chest wall width, breast imprint width, the shape of the breasts and relative level of constriction to ensure that the breast implants are appropriate for your body.Consult in person with 3 experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeons to understand your options.
Bra sizes do not necessarily match implant volumes. Bra sizes vary based on the brand and material and vary widely. Implant sizing is based on the width of your chest among other dimensions. I would recommend discussing your implant size vs cup size with your surgeon to have a better understanding of what your postop cup size may be.
The best cosmetic result in any particular breastaugmentation patient depends on a variety of factors, including: yourindividual anatomy, realistic expectations, a thorough discussion with theplastic surgeon about the options, and an understanding of the pros and cons ofany particular implant choice. Proper sizing is not just about the number ofcc’s. The thickness of your tissue, breast dimensions which include the width, height, and projection, as well as chest wall width all need to be consideredwhen choosing an implant. Trying on implant “sizers” of various shapes andvolumes while wearing a tight t-shirt, bra, or bathing sit at a preoperativevisit will help you and your surgeon choose the optimal implant. There are no manufacturers' standards for cup sizing in the bra industry. Thecups of a 34 D and a 38 D are significantly different. Cup size varies frommanufacturer to manufacturer and even within styles from any particularmanufacturer.Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any otherwebsite who proposes to tell you exactly what to do without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a fullmedical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedurewould not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeoncertified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of theAmerican Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and arecomfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon inperson. Robert Singer, MD FACSLa Jolla, California
There is no way to predict if you will be a D cup or DD cup with 450 cc implants. The cup size depends on the bra company and your breast measurements.
Thank you for the question. Online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice to be truly helpful. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, in bra sizers, and computer imaging) as well as careful measurements (dimensional planning) will be critical.Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example, I have found that the use of know words such as “natural” or "D or DD cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice.3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers.I hope this (and the attached link/video, dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.
I am not sure what you mean by"end cap". Your height ,weight, breast size and body measurements will all play a role in the determination of the final result. There is no standardization with respect to cup size, a c cup in one product line may be a d cup in another line. Further gummy bears have a bit of a different size matrix. There is not enough information to give you an accurate answer but I would suspect your mother is correct.
Good afternoon!Go for the 310cc! No one ever regrets an additional 35cc! I have attached a link to my Breast AUgmentation photo gallery for your review- hope it helps!
Breast implant selection is an exciting, but stressful part of the breast augmentation process as there are so many choices. Unfortunately it is impossible to recommend the best implant style, size or shape without an in-person examination that allows for the measurement of key breast...
If there is an open area that is draining anything whatsoever then it is not a good idea to have any kind of surgery with implants until this is fully cleared up. Otherwise you will be OK
