Am I a candidate for plus size lipo? (photos)

Question

My only issue with my body is my stomach. No matter how much weight I lose, my stomach remains the same size. If I am a candidate for lipo, how many rounds will I need ? I am located in the Chicagoland area and prefer a surgeon that specializes in plus size lipo.

While it’s ideal to achieve a body mass index below 35 before liposuction for best results, a procedure to remove excess fat as a means of encouraging a weight loss can be helpful. The discussion becomes what is the safe amount of fat that can be removed in one procedure and will that amount reach your goals? Thank you for your question.  Looking at your photos it looks like you are dealing with some intra abdominal fat, which you can only lose with weight loss, extra skin and a fat component. Liposuction will help reduce your size but will not address the extra skin you currently have.  It is not wrong to start with aggressive liposuction, shrink you down as much as possible, continue on weight loss and then address the extra skin with a tummy tuck in the future.  I would suggest an in person evaluation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to evaluate you and address all your questions, concerns and make a game plan.  Best of luck to you.

I understand your frustration with trying to get to your ideal body. Although, liposuction can be used to remove fat from persistent areas that are somewhat resistant to diet and exercise, it will leave you with significant excess skin. 
Based on your photos, you may benefit from liposuction and abdominoplasty once your BMI is closer to 30. Attempting liposuction alone at this time will leave you with a less than ideal outcome.

Thanks for your question. The ideal liposuction candidate has localized fat deposits and quality overlying skin without significant excess skin or skin damage. It's recommended for patients getting cosmetic surgery such as liposuction to have a BMI of 30 or less in order to minimize risks and to maximize results. Best is to reach your goal weight then doing an evaluation with  Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to get the best plan for you.

shesouneek.  I appreciate your frustration, however the safest plan that will provide you with the best result would first be the adoption of a solid diet and exercise program to lower your BMI closer to 30 to 35. Thanks for the pictures and provided information as well.
Based on your photos, you are a great candidate for liposuction with a BBL and a tummy tuck, to give you a nice tight tummy, and I think you'll get very good results. For safety and recovery reasons, it is not advisable to combine these procedures. You can divide these procedures in two sessions, six months apart.
Liposuction allows your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. You can improve your waist, back, arms, thighs, hips and flanks, and of course your buttock, to give you a beautiful heart shape, along with the tummy tuck.
In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.
l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.

you will most likely get responses that consistently recommend a full abdominoplasty in conjunction with liposuction.

While that is the textbook answer and it is accurate liposuction is also an option depending on what you're trying to achieve.
 My practice is devoted exclusively to liposuction and fat transfer procedures. I gave up all other surgical procedures during the last five years.
 I perform at approximately 400 liposuction cases per year.
 My experience has been that high volume liposuction it for the right candidate has a very high patient satisfaction probably higher than patients with lower BMIs.
 The procedure needs to be done correctly which means most likely you should have a liposuction  of your entire torso. And our practice this would include a full abdomen( upper abdomen, lower abdomen, waist and love handles), back and arm pit. You would also benefit from liposuction of your arms and potentially lower extremities.
 This will most likely produce more than 5 L of fat and in our practice we would split this into two procedures for safety reasons.
 I perform liposuction with local anesthesia and mild sedation.

 Liposuction alone will not give you a flat abdomen. You will have a skin laxity and you will still have muscle separation from previous pregnancies if that's the case. 
 Liposuction is a very safe procedure with a tolerable recovery. Most patients see you close to final results at six weeks and results are final at three months.
 Most patients can go back to daily activities in 3 to 4 days  Full exercise in 2 to 3 weeks.
 The best results will always come from patients who loose weight on their own in combination with well done liposuction.
 If you wish you could choose to have a full abdominoplasty down the road if the results from liposuction are not sufficient.  
 If you want a flat tight abdomen  and are willing to put up with the invasiveness of the surgery then you should choose an Abdominoplasty with liposuction. An abdominoplasty  compared to liposuction is substantially more invasive, more expensive and has higher risks and chances of complications. This is especially true in overweight patients. 
poorly done liposuction or liposuction and that does not include all the areas necessary will leave you potentially disfigured or with the poor aesthetic outcome. I suppose that's obvious but it needs to be pointed out. There's a high variability among different providers and results vary greatly based on who you choose to have your procedure done by.

I suggest consulting in person with several local experienced board-certified plastic surgeon's until you find the one you believe it can give you the best results and take the best care of you.
 This decision will change you for the rest of your life so choose wisely.
