Redness and numbness are still persistent and I have also tingling and burning sensation in front of my head. It seems that i have less of my native hair then i had before surgery. I dont know what to do. Dr doesnt bother to reply to my msg. P.S. How often should I wash my hair? I was told twice a week? NIZOR
Answer: Redness will settle Thank you for your question. I am sorry that you have not had a good experience. The redness and numbness will persist for much longer. Generally the redness will remain for a minimum of 3 months. You can use a water based concealer such as lycogel - this comes in various different shades and can match your skin type. This will help to hide the redness if this is a problem. The numbness can last upto 6 months or more and is because you had the fluid injected into your scalp - this stretches the scalp and the nerves and as the swelling settles the nerves will start to fire. it is not permanent but will take time to come back. You can develop some shedding of existing hairs and transplanted hairs. Following implanting into the scalp the hair can cause exiting hairs to go into shock. These are generally the follicle you can see and not the root. These hairs do eventually grow back. You are very early on in the healing process and will notice a lot of changes over the next couple of weeks. We ideally see our patients at 1 and 2 weeks and then at 3, 6, 12 and 18 months. BY 18 months to 2 years, you will have the final result in terms of the amount of hair that is going to come through. I hope this is helpful for you. Best wishes Rohit Seth Plastic, reconstructive, aesthetic and hair transplant surgery.

Answer: If you are having issues after surgery and your doctor has abandoned you, find another doctor If you are having issues after surgery and your doctor has abandoned you, find another doctor to see. Find a doctor in your area who can examine you. The Internet is not a place to receive treatment advice since you are lacking an examination. You will end up with conflicting information and guesses which will DELAY your treatment. Please see a doctor in person.

Answer: Surgery in Turkey A fact of life...you get what you pay for. There are great surgeons in Turkey, and there are not so great surgeons in Turkey. Regardless, traveling outside the USA for a medical procedure is generally not a good idea. When patients have a surgical complication, their physician is not locally available to help manage their complication. Furthermore, when you have your surgery done in the USA there is a level of quality upheld by US physicians. You lose this when you travel outside trying to save money on a surgery. Its amazing to me how people try to save money on SURGERY when it involves their body.Id recommend finding a doctor locally thats willing to see you and manage complications caused by another physician.

Answer: Redness and Numbness In general you should be following whatever you doctor told you. However if they are not communicating for whatever reason, you need to find a new doctor. Any sort of burning and redness are uncommon past 30 days and they could be signs that you are developing an infection. Potentially could be caused by Minoxidil if you started it after your transplant though, too. Regardless you need to seek out a doctor that will actually help you in person and advise you. With the washing, at 45 days you should be fine returning to your normal washing routine that you had before your transplant.
