Hello doctors, as you can see in the pictures I just left my consultation. We have decided on doing a jaw and neck lipo for the fat under my chin but I was inquiring about my cheeks too. She is recommending lipo on my face/cheeks but I'm wanting more opinions. Should I get lipo or buccal fat removal? It's mainly an issue when I smile as you see in the picture,my cheeks becoming chipmunk-y. Thank you!

Answer: Buccal fat pad excision Thank you for the interesting question. Please don’t go the facial liposuction route. Hopefully your plastic surgeon explained that you may develop hallowing or contour irregularities that can be very difficult and costly to correct. As for buccal fat pad excision, please make sure that she only removes a modest amount. Otherwise, as you age, you will look older than your age. I would counsel you to lose some overall weight before doing either of these procedures.
