I exercise 3 times a week, do not eat carbs often, have completely cut out foodstuffs like chips and sodas, but still seem to keep all the stomach weight I've now had for several years. I saw my weight go down, and I saw myself lose fat in my theighs, face, calves and buttocks, but it simply stayed on my stomach. Because of this I am seriously considering liposuction if not this year (17 yo) with my parents approval, then the next (18 yo) without it. Am I a good candidate for lipo?
Answer: Liposuction I would never suction any patient in your age range, and the abdomen is a difficult area to suction and get a good result. You need to be patient, and continue eating properly, more cardio, and consider getting a trainer. Do not let anyone suction your abdomen. If you are still unhappy with your weight, consider a weight loss center under physician supervision.Good luck. You can do it.

Answer: Lipo for a teenager I am the father of a teenager, so I understand your concerns. The deal is your body is still growing and maturing, and dealing with hormones, and you may not need lipo just now. It sounds like you are doing a great job with diet and exercise, but do me a favor, try one more thing. Check out the link below to an article I wrote about avoiding liposuction with a specific diet. Become an abdominal crunch machine, and try my recommendations. If that truly doesn't work, then at least you will know that you tried everything to avoid surgery, and will have a much better argument for your parents!

Answer: Is 17 old enough for liposuction? Congratulations on your weight loss! Keep up the good work. You have already had success and modified your diet. Turn these changes into lifestyle habits and continue your efforts. Break through your current plateau. At seventeen, you are still growing and your body is metabolically active. Weight loss is much easier now than when you are fifty. Please know that liposuction surgery is a body sculpting technique, not a weight loss tool. When performed on an individual whose weight is not under control and stable, liposuction can result in disproportionality when the areas of the body not treated continue to expand as additional fat is deposited into fat tissue.Liposuction is major surgery. Recovery can be lengthy and painful. There are risks involved and potential complications.Emotional maturity is also a factor. Dealing with complications, pain, disappointing results or unmet expectations can be difficult for an adult, even more so for a child.Liposuction can be performed on a seventeen year old, but I would recommend nutritional counseling and patience first. Find a well qualified surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who will take these issues into account and keep your best interests at heart. Together you can decide when you are ready.

Answer: Liposuction at 17 On rare cases, have a performed liposuction for someone under 18. I think that you would need to be seen in person with parent approval.
