Prior to a PRP injection it would be wise to stop aspirin or ibuprofen (and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as naproxyn and toradol) five to six days before the scheduled procedure. You do not need to stop acetaminophen (Tylenol) at all as it has no effects on platelets or clotting. You may resume the use of ibuprofen a couple of days after your procedure.
susansl, That is a very good question. Tylenol is OK before procedures. Ibuprofen should not be taken for up 5 day before treatment. Aspirin and other NSAID, like ibuprofen, can cause platelets to not function properly. Healthy platelets are needed for good PRP results.. Thanks and best wishes.. Dr. John.
I generally advise to hold all NSAID’s (non-steroidal anti inflammatories) such as Ibuprofen, Aleve, Mobic, diclofenac, etc for 3-4 days before and for 5-7 days after the procedure. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is ok to use right up to the procedure and after. I hope that helps!
There is no reason to stop the Tylenol but you should hold anything that can interfere with platelet function. These include ibuprofen, aleve, toradol etc for 48 hours before and 48 to 72 hours after. I also tell my clients to hold the omega/fish oils.
This is a great question. If your main concern is the lines in these areas when your face is at rest, PRP can work for you. The skin is numb for PRP injections, so they are very tolerable. I would recommend doing a combination of PRP injections and the vampire facial, which combines PRP with th...
PRP can be beneficial when injected deep around the eyes. Stem cell injections, with or without fat grafting; and with or without PRP can be even a better choice for eyelid rejuvenation.
Thank you for your question! Yes, you will notice some changes with only one PRP miconeedling session. PRP is a remarkable blood product, it will *help* soften the skin, soften scars, soften fine lines, help with dyspigmentation, and overall get you to a more youthful looking...
A combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with skin tightening for the face. I recommend J Plasma, lasers (Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant, Co2), microneedling/prp, ultherapy and rf treatments to get the best outcomes. PRF is similar to PRP in the sense that it helps to produce...
Hellomy0604, thank you for your question! Swelling after PRP is completely normal and typically lasts a few days- when it comes to the under eye, recovery can be longer and is often unpredictable. In our practice, we generally do not advise PRP treatments (especially under eye) if the patient...
