Can you have noticeable results from Microneedling with PRP after only one treatment?

Question

I was interested in Microneedling with PRP, however will someone have noticeable results if they choose only one treatment? Also, what type of results should one expect, does it help with fine lines as well? I was informed that multiple treatments are recommended, but at $600 a piece I was not sure if I could afford multiple treatments. Thank you!

Yes, you will see results, but they are compounded by multiple treatments. I always combine microneedling with lasers to get better outcomes. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question! Yes, you will notice some changes with only one PRP miconeedling session. PRP is a remarkable blood product, it will *help* soften the skin, soften scars, soften fine lines, help with dyspigmentation, and overall get you to a more youthful looking appearance. 3 sessions is the usual recommended package, and for multiple reasons but most importantly to help make the effect more pronounced. I like to use the analogy, one treatment is like getting one coat of paint, its evident, its there, but its different than a final product with multiple coats. Hope that helps.. best of luck!

Both treatments create an inflammatory response which in turn stimulates your body to produce more collagen an elastin. It is usually recommended to have a course of 3 treatments for best results. Microneedling with PRP can be a very useful treatment technique for gentle Collagen Induction Therapy. Your question is better answered after a formal consultation because it depends on your age and knowledge of what condition is being treated.  This treatment can be used for general skin rejuvenation but also for acne scars, active acne, scars, stretch marks, discolorations, etc.  Improvement would be expected from a single treatment but long lasting results and treatment of specific conditions are best treated in series after a four week healing period in between if your budget allows.

Microneedling is radiofrequency energy that works over time. Look into Microneedling Intensif by Endymed that has 25 gold plated needles and you can penetrate 2.5 to 3.5 mm deep.. One can deliver more significant energy and deeper with this versus Microneedling pen. Along with PRP it produces great results. Generally results are better with at least three treatments of Microneedling one month apart and one PRP. This works well for fine lines, resurfacing and  acne scars. It can be done on all skin types. Very little downtime. It is also preventative for future fine lines and wrinkles, with good maintenance program.

Yes, microneedling as a treatment in of itself helps to improve blood flow and remove some of the surface layer of skin, giving you an immediate healthy glow the following day. PRP results usually take 4-6 weeks to take effect and are reinforced by a second and even third treatment 4-6 weeks apart.. This depends on what you are treating and the depth of the needle used. Shallow needles penetrate less and may be less effective. I use a 2 mm to 3 mm needle depending on skin texture and quality..  If you are just rejuvenating normal skin, you will see the difference with one treatment within 2 weeks. If you have a problem skin then you may need multiple treatments to resolve the condition..

Results are mild with this procedure and the improvements are seen in skin quality, pore size, fine lines, and with scars. Unfortunately, one treatment will give very limited results. Expect a series of 4-6 to get noticeable changes.
