How many syringes of lip filler do you think I need? (Photo)

Thank you for your question and photograph.  I think you are starting from a very good shape and size of lips for an augmentation and I would recommend a single syringe for both your bottom and top lip.  If after this treatment you still want your lips to be fuller, you can always add more filler until your desired look is obtained.  You have some facial asymmetry to your cheeks and lower jaw region which can be improved upon with additional use of Botox, Kybella and dermal fillers but the decision on treatment rests with your areas of concern.  Be sure to see an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to maximize your results.

You would get a nice improvement with lip fillers. Most Doctors will start with one syringe to avoid over-filling. These fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good to create a full and symmetrical lip. Nova threads can be used to improve lift and shape. Implants or fat are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert to go over your desired results. In most cases, I recommend starting with only one syringe of lip fillers - especially if its your first time.  Some patients do need to come back for additional syringes, but it is best to start out gradually and work up to the final volume.  Another popular combination is a syringe of Juvederm Ultra to add volume and a syringe of Volbella for more definition and filling of fine lines around the mouth at the same time.Good luck

Thanks for your question and photo.  The key item that I think you have already picked up on is that one may not be enough. Plan on two syringes but go slow, especially since this is your first time.  Get one syringe, see how you like it. Then go back for a second if needed.  Good luck.

I don't think that your upper lip has dropped as you say, especially given the fact that you are only 20.  I would caution you to be a bit careful on doing a multiple of facial procedures given how you currently look.  I would recommend a gradual introduction with one cc of fillers.  This is with the understanding that in my opinion your lips look quite nice.  

I always recommend starting with 1 syringe of filler when it comes to the lips and then adding more at followup appointments once the swelling and bruising has resolved. Natural looking lips is always my goal. I really like the Restylane family of fillers for the lips. With regards to other treatments, I think you have beautiful facial features. You do have some sun damage and so I would recommend a series of gentle laser treatments (Clear + Brilliant Permea) combined with a good at home skincare regimen (antioxidant, sunscreen, retinol). 

Hi,Thank you for including your photograph. In the long run, fillers are not the answer if you think the length between the base of the nose and the lip is too long. A lip lift procedure is more appropriate. My philosophy on lip fillers is to go slow. As a point of reference, if you want to go from the lips you have to Kylie Jenner lips, it will take about 6-8 syringes spaced out over several months. I would NOT use more than 1 syringe on your first session for both psychological and physiologic reasons. You are attractive and only 20 years old, I would not be in a rush to get a bunch of other procedures done. Mehdi Sina, MD

Based on your photo I think you will do just fine with one syringe, if it’s only the upper lip you are concerned about. You can start with one and add another syringe if necessary.

You should start off with one syringe. You can always add another syringe if you want more. Everybody is different and you acn't go by what other people prefer.

Thank you for sharing your picture, which clearly demonstrates a beautiful shape of lips as the philtrum and cupid's bow are both prominent and this means that your lip augmentation treatment would be focused on hydrating the lips and adding more volume to them rather than reshaping.
I agree with you regarding the volume needed for your lips to restore a youthful look and add more volume too. 2mls would be a reasonable volume to have.
Sometimes, we would prefer to inject 1.5mls in first instance and after 6-8 weeks we add another 0.5ml to complement the first treatment and give your new lips a long life with this new size.
In summary, my plan for you would be 0.7ml in top lip, 0.8 ml in bottom lip and 0.5 for the top up after two months from initial treatment
