This cannot be performed through the belly button. It would require better access and capsulectomy, performed through the nipple incision.
Hi,Thanks for posting your question. I am happy to try and help you. It isimportant to remember that a board certified plastic surgeon will be your best resourcewhen it comes to an accurate assessment of your situation, and concerns. Having said that, I recommend draining the saline filled implants in the officeand leaving the breast implants in after deflation. This is reasonable to allow for evaluation of the skin, breast shape and life impact ofhaving the breast implants removed. Once it is determined that the patient is happy without the implants. Irecommend simply removing the implants. This can be done in the office and at areasonable expense. If they shape is something that requires adjustments thenthe degree of adjustment and results can be discussed before surgery. This can not be done through the navel.Below is a link to learn more about implant removal. Best wishes,Dr. Michael J. BrownNorthern Virginia Plastic Surgeon
Hi, whitneyr7. Although your implants can be removed through your belly button, it would be too much trauma to remove them through the belly button. I recommend removing them through the inframammary crease or periareolar (around the areola) incision. Please discuss your options with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.
You will need to have them removed through an alternate incision likely in the fold or along the areola border. Good luck.
No. I recommend an inframammary or periareolar approach for removal of TUBA implants in most patients. The scars will be very short particularly if you are opting to not have silicone devices placed. Depending on how your breasts look, a breast lift may be anticipated.
