Botox question! Asymmetry after Botox injection.

Question

dr William hall in Scott AZ. injected 20cc to forehead and 25cc frown lines between eyebrows. My right side is completely immobile, my left side is good and I can naturally lift the corner of my left eyebrow without creating wrinkles on my forehead. This makes my face look asymmetrical and drives me nuts! What are my options ? Should I wait till it wears out or is there other intervention I can do to reverse it? Sorry, I cannot post the pictures of my face for obvious reason. Thank you!!!

Botox typically takes around 14 days to take it's full effect.  Your provider might be able to correct the asymmetry by adding more product, but your best bet would be to follow up with your injector for evaluation of the treated areas. Should you elect to forgo additional treatment to correct the asymmetry, the treated areas should return to their former appearance anywhere from 3-4 months.

Even the most experienced injectors occasionally see patients who need a touch up (no one is perfect!!). The slight asymmetries you describe can be fixed with a couple units of Botox. In my practice, we do not charge for these few units if the patient is seen within 3 weeks of the injection.

Obviously without pictures it is hard to fully understand your concerns.  However, the good news is a botox treatment that you do not like will wear off.  When it does, please find an injector who makes sense.  Find an doctor who performs the Microdroplet Lift which is a new away of doing periocular botox that does not freeze the forehead.

Hello.  While botox is extremely safe, occasionally one may get undesirable effects.  The good news is no matter what, or how much you hate the results, botox is guaranteed to wear off in about 3-4 months.  However, before then, you may ask your doctor to inject more botox in the more mobile side in an attempt to make your face more symmetrical.  Good luck.

Thank you for your question. Even though Botox is very safe, sometimes you may get unpleasant results. The good news is that Botox is not permanent and lasts only 3-4 months. You can ask your injector to make your face more symmetrical by injecting more Botox into the more mobile side of your face. Best of Luck!

your question perfectworld. I understand your concern. Botox is a purified
protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. Asymmetry is common in the upper forehead after a Botox treatment. In our office we have patients return 2 weeks after the treatment to assess the results. At that point correction can be made to elevate or depress either brow which is in an undesired position. To depress the brow I place a small amount of Botox directly above the brow. To elevate the brow I place a small amount of Botox at the corner of the brow to be elevated. Please

In my opinion you need to go for a review appointment (usually complimentary 2 weeks post treatment) to have your practitioner access the areas and make any adjustments necessary.

In my opinion, it is best to follow up with your surgeon 2 weeks after your injection as the Botox effect on muscles will be maximal at that point and your surgeon would perform touch up. It seems that you need few more units on the left side to match the right side.
