I am getting Botox shots in my neck area and cortisone in my shoulder is it safe?

Thank you for your question!Botox in the neck area should not interfere with cortisone in your shoulder.  Although not specified, it sounds like the cortisone is an intra-articular (into the joint) injection. Botox is injected into the muscle so not as deep, and also not in the same area are your cortisone injection.Hope this helps!

Thanks for your question – it is always good to ask about medicines being injected into your body to make sure that there is no contraindications or potential problems having them done at the same time.  As you can see from the answers that have already been posted, there should never be a problem with what you are having done – you will be fine having Botox in your neck and cortisone in your shoulder.

As far as I know you should not have a problem getting the injections together. Just ensure that a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in those injections performs them and checks no interaction between the two types medications.Good luck!

There should be no effect on the Botox from the steroids shot you are receiving in your shoulder.

Botox injections for your neck and cortisone injections for your shoulder will not interfere with their effectiveness nor cross-react.
