Hello, I broke my nose and it’s still crooked, I was wondering, in order to fix it, which procedure should I have done for the best possible outcome, , an open reduction or a rhinoplasty ? Thank you.

Answer: Nasal Surgery Consult with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon for their opinion based on a comprehensive examination. There are internal factors that may come into play such as a deviated septum that should be addressed at the same time. Additionally, during the examination, you should express any concerns you have with regards to desired changes in form and function with your nose. The surgeon should be able to present an understandable plan to achieve your goals. Names or procedures or techniques are not as important as your surgeon's expertise and training.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you have significant mid-vault asymmetry and need bone work and also placement of spreader grafts to straighten your nose. Rhinoplasty is a much better option for you. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
